End of Season Tournament Winners

The Ducks took the skies.

The first season of the Guns of Icarus competitive scene has ended! I’d like to thank everyone for their amazing performances in the end of season tournament that we are officially naming The Fabria Conclusion.

The first day was a rapidfire round robin event that saw the Aeronautical Knights, Bully Boys, Ducks, Glowwater Thralls, Museosaurs, Sky Invading Rhinos, The Flying Dutchmen, and Zill’s Merry Men pushing onto the second day’s single elimination.

There were some amazing matches with teams showing top forms, and if you’d like to watch the action as it unfolded, you can find videos on our Youtube page.

Some of the highlights of day 1 include the Glowwater Thralls vs Zill’s Merry Men where the Thralls showed off the spires firepower by locking down ships with a Hwacha and Hades combo.  The Merry Men were were forced into a more defensive position, but their counter attack gained them four kills without answer from the Thralls.  Grouping back up the Thralls blasted through the firing line to gain three more kills without losing a ship and winning them the game.

Another amazing moment was Polaris’s Galleon in the tight confines of the Paritan Rumble. The behemoth tanked and brawled both enemy Pyramidions with a finishing ram by it’s allied Goldfish for the rounds first kill.

Second day spoilers after the jump…

A Holiday Season Open Letter to the Community

LoveCommunity

Hi everyone,

As our community continues to grow, we just want to take some time to reflect, remind, and reaffirm what we are about and how you can expect us to serve you in and around this game.  We’ve always looked at the game we created as not just a product, but also as a service.  It is our goal to provide the best experience and service possible for you.  Our support of this community is paramount to your enjoyment of the game.

It is our mission to make people feel welcome, respected, and happy.  Without you, we don’t have a game to make.  We are deeply humbled by the fact that you decided to spent your hard earned money on something we created and are passionate about.  You make what we do possible and, therefore, we aim to provide you with service that is personal, fast, and attentive.  And we will do everything possible to serve those who want to be part of a positive and fun community. November at Muse

We’re giving you nomz in the future.

Winter is finally here!  Aside from battling our landlord to plug up a hole in our room (and trying not to freeze to death in the meantime), we’re again working on number of new additions and fixes to Skirmish and making good progress with Co-op.  While we’re working hard on getting things done, let me give you a tour around the studio 🙂

A bunch of things we’re working on are features that will hopefully mitigate some heated situations in the game right now.  The two that I’d like to explain in-depth before we release onto Dev App and into Production is Ship Scramble and Slot Swapping.

Hit the jump for more details!

On October 29th, we will be 1 year old!

We’ll be giving out a free hat, badge, and special community challenges to everyone who join us in game. We’ll also be running a marathon long dev game stream to twitch.tv/gunsoficarus so we can spend the day with our amazing community who continues to astound us in so many ways. To add a special bang to our celebration on October 29th we’re loading the ships with fireworks and streamers, so when they explode it’ll be truly spectacular. And don’t be surprised to see a cake that Eugene baked somewhere 😀

We’ll be at PAX Prime 2013

Seattle, here we come! Throw us all your coffee! We’ll be needing it!

Just a reminder, we’ll be at this year’s PAX Prime in Seattle, WA.  We’ll be there on all of the days as a part of the Indie MEGABOOTH.  I can’t remember off the top of my head which booth we’re in but we’ll have our big TV showcasing matches being played live from the show floor.

Come by our booth and say hello!  Get a poster, get a pin.  If you’re in town and want to hang out let us know.  We had a great dinner with some of our players in the Boston area and hope to do something again this year.  Get in touch!

  • Twitter: @GOIOnline
  • Email: feedback@musegames.com (Put in “Player meetup PAX Prime!” as the subject!)
  • OR even better… sign-up here on Facebook.

Those will be the most reliable ways to get in touch.

It’s Official, we are headed to PS4

HOLY CRAP PS4

Needless to say, we’ve been pretty busy this past few months with wrapping up our Adventure Mode Kickstarter and starting development on that as well as continued development for Skirmish Mode.  This year at Gamescome 2013, just a few minutes ago, an official announcement was made about Guns of Icarus Online.

WE’RE HEADED FOR THE PS4.

We know everyone will have a ton of questions and we’ll do our best to answer them.  A lot of details though are TBD.  As Sony said themselves, they are putting the power in our hands.  The developers are calling the shots and we’ll make the best possible decisions for the future of the game as well as supporting our current player base.

It’ll be nuts.
