The coin flip is the worst when you are still in combat.  In the case of the SCS that this came up in, the kill came approximately two seconds after time was called, but due to time being called, it went to a coin flip, and the team without the kill was awarded the win.  Neither team was comfortable with that outcome, so the "winning" team conceded to the team that got the kill.  I understand that it is difficult for many players to play indefinitely, and that a time limit is helpful for limiting endless sniping, but when there are ships that are close to death and combat is still actively ongoing, it seems kinda shitty to take a match that was about to come to its natural conclusion and instead predicate the outcome on total chance.

I like the idea of basing the outcome on perma.  It feels much more like the battle is awarded to the team that came closest to winning.  If a match ends 3-2, technically nobody "won" either because nobody got five kills, but we choose to award the win to the team that came closest to winning.

July 9 is a Saturday though....

Being able to name your lobby "MINE MOBULAS ONLY" so people joining would know what they were getting into.

Named lobbies in general <3

Feedback and Suggestions / Re: Password lock ships

So, now that you have that out of your system, back to the original post and the problem presented.

You crew form. You join a lobby. As OFTEN happens, one of your crew loses connection for less than a minute. Bam, second gunner!

I don't think the solution here is a password ship or votekick, but rather an enforceable 'reserved' spot for people that lost connection for a bit.

So, you join with your crew, one is lost, and someone else joins. The captain or crew (if the pilot is lost) can mark the spot as 'reserved' before or after another person joins. The person in the spot will be given a popup saying the spot is reserved due to technical difficulties, and they may lose it if the player comes back.  If the previous player returns, they can click on the person in their spot and force a swap slot in some polite manner.

Problem solved in the least trolly manner possible.

YES.  If you DC in-game, your spot is reserved for what, two minutes before someone else can take it?  Two minutes might be a bit much for lobby reservation, but it is so frustrating when a friend DCs and their spot is instantly filled with someone who declines loadouts, proving they're not AFK, but also refuses to communicate or seems to not hear or read your pleas of "Hey, my friend down there in spectate was on this ship but disconnected, would you mind going to that empty spot on that other ship?"

For once, I agree with something you have to say.  Amazing.

Feedback and Suggestions / Re: Level requirement to create clans

I can get behind clans that have been completely inactive for a long period of time being dissolved, but level requirement for creating a clan?  Seriously?  What's next, not allowing new people to have a friends list?  Automatically muting new players in lobbies?  Clans are not exclusive for veterans or serious players or even people who plan to stick around a long time.  There's no reason to restrict who can create them.

The Docks / Clan Clan! It's a clan!

Join the spring greenest clan to fly the skies!

Clan Clan mostly just is a group of friends who like to play games together.  We participate in competitive events as well as casual play and have a penchant for mines, unusual builds, and spring green!

We are looking both for people with an interest in playing on our competitive team as well as casual members.  We do not have a level requirement for joining, but we ask that you are active in the game, communicative, willing to learn, and of course friendly. :)  If you'd like to join, find our clan page, add some of us to your friends list and play with us!  We do not have a formal "application"; we prefer to get to know you and learn if you are a good fit.

If you would like to join our competitive team, you will also be expected to join us for practices when we are preparing for events.  Most of us are located in America (mainly west coast), some in Europe, so these are the time zones we most accommodate with our scheduling.  Practices are typically weekday evenings and weekend afternoons.

All I can say is that the squid really, really did not need another buff.  Like.... REALLY, REALLY did not need.

Gunners or pilots for sure.

There aren't ships that benefit from more than one pilot.  Does that mean pilot is an inferior class?

Gunner is more specialized than engineer.  Two engineers is necessary.  You simply cannot keep most ships together without two engineers.

I'm a mine gunner.  Wait, there are other guns?  Oh yeah, I can shoot those too.

Reluctant engineer, but I'll do it as long as you aren't making me fix a squid.  Awful pilot (don't let the 45 fool you).
