First clan I joined was the Merry Men. Haven't left.  :)

Bumping this thread to send out a merry salute. We're still alive and a bunch of us got back into Guns the other day, had a lot of fun re-learning how to play.  :P

Also just noticed the 15 minute time limit; that seems arbitrarily short and could honestly be a deterrent for some people. Some of the best competitive matches I've ever played in lasted upwards of an hour or so. Of course I know these can be boring to watch, so I understand imposing a 30 minute timer or something, but 15 minutes is very limiting.

Okay, I guess I was thrown off by the use of the word "season" -- it sounds like each season is actually just a single tournament.

While this looks nice, I'm a little confused and concerned about there being two conflicting seasonal events (see here: https://gunsoficarus.com/community/forum/index.php/topic,5667.0.html). How will that be handled?

How exactly does this differ from the old official competitive season? (https://gunsoficarus.com/community/forum/index.php/topic,3188.0.html)

Since that one fell apart, I'm a little skeptical of a new season format.

I loved Desert Strike and Legend of Dragoon.

How about this classic?

i see no harm. As I see it. People are only offended, simply because they feel they have to.

Its not like the symbol killed your whole family or anything. The nazis did. I'm frankly more offended that such an inoffensive symbol became such a vision for hate.
Please stop. The fact of the matter is the symbol does represent hatred, and you don't get to tell people to simply "stop being offended" because you don't think people should be. "As you see it" does not matter, because you're not the one affected.

yeah, we were all ready to go for the scrim on the 26th that Rydr never showed up to, so I guess knock yourselves out if you really want the title that badly.

Even cooler than checking our Steam group is checking our website! http://merrymen.herokuapp.com/ Blame DMaximus Shink for bad web design!

Perhaps the issue is this is the only Indie game I've taken a liking to and that my expectations are unrealistic.
Yes, this is very clearly the issue. Your post is characteristic of someone who has never played an online game. This isn't Microsoft Word, an enterprise program that is expected to remain stable for 30 years. This is an indie game developed by a group of 15 people. Game patches change fairly big components that are frankly impossible to test 100%. Bugs are (and should be) expected. I would truly be more surprised if there were absolutely zero bugs -- that just tells me that there are likely more insidious bugs that haven't been uncovered yet.

Software has bugs. Online games have even more bugs. Online games developed by a small team of people? Of course there will be bugs. That said, Guns of Icarus is a pretty well-polished game. I don't think I have ever encountered a game-breaking bug.

Also, your suggestion that they stop paying artists and only pay engineers is completely absurd as well as goddamn insulting.

I think it can (or should) probably be removed. If it's as meaningless as you say (which I agree it is), I don't think there's any reason to have it there. I don't really think it discourages rage quitting. If you're the type to rage quit a match the second you start losing, you're likely not the type of person to care about a meaningless number in your profile page.

Oh, weird. Mine had a mic. I just assumed you were too busy sighing to yourself due to my jumping in front of your helm to actually use it to talk to me.

I can only imagine the amount of confused looks on players' faces in response to our yelling had the tournament actually happened.

I was disappointed you didn't yell "HULL SURETTE" at me in person.

Co-op was fun, still needs work of course but I am confident it'll be great when it's released.
