You know, when I check in with this thread I often forget it's the "Silly Ideas" thread and mistake these for real suggestions, which leads to frequent minor heart attacks. Sometimes the line is very thin.

Sorry Clara. I actually wouldn't mind trying to pilot like this, but I probably would stick to normal controls for most games. It probably isn't worth the dev teams effort to humor an old sim fan's whims.

Hardcore pilot mode: control the thrust of each engine individually. No wheel, just three throttle meters (four on a squid). Keys Q, W, and E increase the speed of the left,center, and right engines respectively. Keys A, S, and D do the same for decreasing.

This would be really rad though

i'm still occasionally pushing the idea of having a katana as a gunner tool (Specifically for The Way costume) that isn't used for boarding mind you. . (i wouldn't dare) . . but instead used to deflect bullets that are fired at the ship back at your enemy. just need a bit more convincing. . .

at the very least have it as a secret alternate "hammer". . . hey if hitting things with a hammer fixes things then hitting things with a sword wont make much difference. . .

Super Hardcore pilot mode, same as above only with three more levers to adjust the angle of attack on the propeller blades, and the possibility of the engine overheating or stalling if you do it wrong.

You're missing the need to calculate weight distribution.
