Feedback and Suggestions / Mic priority
« on: November 11, 2015, 03:58:51 pm »
How bout the ability to custom toggle the priority of mics.

On a scale of 1-10 on priority list (just in case you add more voice chats).

You give levels of priority for mic volumes you wanna listen to in the event where some types overlap.

Like friends, clan, crew, team, lobby, spectate, party.

and you can toggle to lower volumes of others while one of higher priority is playing.

and a separate one for in-game. where you can toggle priority for crew, captain, party and clan (not that thats ever used).

Because what tends to occur during lobbies is alot of overlap where you can't understand anyone (also those obnoxious noobs that just wanna be noisy prats for its sake-you know the type).

Naturally you can set things to the same priority so they don't get lowered over other less important stuff.

Like say...

Friends, clannies and crew are top priority to me. So they are 10.

But if team is talking I put them to 5. So when any of the above talk the sound level is 5 notches below in volume.
Lobby is set to 3 thats enemy team and spectators (those who aren't clannies nor friends whom I set to high priority).

So when lobby speaks over team which is current top priority (so max volume unless higher priority plays). It booms 2 notches below team. And when Priority 10 plays its 7 notches below friends and crew. But team is still louder.

That or just mute them when a priority is sounding. Thinking of a tick box for temp mute or lower volume settings.

Feedback and Suggestions / Spectators don't join crew form
« on: October 26, 2015, 09:08:08 am »
but auto search new match.

that should have always been a thing.

Plus this way spectators can join any lobby with spec slots and pick and choose any empty slots on ships should they choose.

With two types of match making it makes filling up lobbies faster.

Plus i can leave the game on watching guns matches all day.

Feedback and Suggestions / A gramophone on the ship that plays shanties

Apparently thats a thing even though shanties are meant to be sung by the crew.

I feel nothing for the idea but eh what you think?

"No burst is not good on gatling gun. Anyone that says so is a liar even if they actually believe it."

"No inci ammo is not good for close range hwacha"

"Of course mallet is great on a gunner. If you like your guns broken for most of the match and like to die with no means to defend yourself in time."

come on. Surely us vets have seen little habits new players tend to do.

"Having chem and extinguisher is great way to save the ship from fire! But together what will you do when something actually breaks or gets damaged?"

Feedback and Suggestions / Drift mines
« on: September 27, 2015, 01:07:08 pm »
Just like how ship that were previously moving forward still move forward after their engine break.

What if mines drift in the direction they are fired and slowly lose velocity just like ships. The faster the mine was launched (lesmok) the farther it will drift in the direction it was shot.

Feedback and Suggestions / Dumb idea to make range finder a must

Remove the square grid on the map.

And from then on people will have to tell location by giving silly nick names to every landmark on each map.

You can call the big gun in firnfeld Junon.

Feedback and Suggestions / Remote sticky bomb
« on: September 17, 2015, 03:01:59 pm »
Basic idea. You fire a gun not unlike a mine launcher/poon. Mine as it theres a counter on how many active stickies are allowed (1 instead of the 5 mines). And has the reload time of a poon and has the firing arc of one.

It sticks to the enemy ship and the gunner can decide when to detonate. If it is not detonated within x seconds( prolly because the next shot isn't fired or the gun is destroyed). It explodes automatically.

I say its a shatter/explosive gun with long reload.

The command to detonate is when you fire the next sticky bomb. Just like when you fire the 6th mine in a mine launcher.

Feedback and Suggestions / AI spots
« on: September 14, 2015, 07:17:00 am »
Basically when a captain uses captain spot.

AI will lock spyglasses on it and spot it.

Not asking for someting OP like AI spotting like spyglass aimbots. They spot when the captain orders them to spot/target it.

World / Faction tactics and strategies and preferred loadouts
« on: September 09, 2015, 01:27:22 am »
FYI tactics and strategies are different things.

A tactic is a mission to destroy a supply base using an armoured assault on a force ill prepared for it.

A strategy is destroy a supply base that is instrumental on maintaining the enemy front lines.

So if you were a factions commanders what tactics would you employ to rule the world and what kinds of counter measures do you think you would encounter?

inb4 merchantile likes flamers and mines. (mainly from that alliance video)

Who is friend and who is foe?

Who gets that noob that can't do anything and who gets the tryhards (why has no one created that clan yet)?

Naturally I am with the Baronies.

Rummaging through my archives I found these lil buggers.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JeRMUVwISek

Make guns of Icarus versions with airships that chase your cursor with squid being the fastest one to catch up to the cursor and galleon being the slowest to catch up.

Obligatory gyro controls
Rhythm games with no calibration/sync option (or even an options menu)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6DXOzNmodM

Notice the guy is getting perfect but the timing circles are nowhere NEAR the actual input circle.

godammit sega. You make such a good game but design it so poorly for users to actually play. Its space channel 5 all over again.

It'll be a working amiibo for splatoon. But the model will be the squid.

I mean some of the CP related stuff is outdated.

e.g. Desert scrap map achievement for engie and gunner

Get 4 kill more than deaths.

That was designed with the old CP rules in mind when a team had no choice but to kill a single blocker or it wouldn't capture the point, making deaths a common place.

But in the current ruleset it just won't occur now. As you can have a majority on the point and the other ship can impotently block you but essentially he's forced out, ignored or killed.
Thats too many variables for 4 kills in 400 seconds.

And seeing as harpoon got a new update, white whaler might be a problem for some new players as unlike the old days. Flame throwers aren't all that effective anymore to hull break and cause ram kills. And the resident ram ship has been turned into up to scale model made of paper mache.

Also OH DEAR GOD LOWER THE REQUIREMENT OF 1KM KILLS FOR ENGIES. It just as tedious as 260 minutes with novices on the teaching achievement and that got lowered to 30 minutes.

I know there are other such achievements and I'm sure you guys know others.

But yes. More 3 v 3. 3 v 3 is the crazy king player format and has the most variety in terms of maps and match types. Utilise that more than 4 v 4.
