Get your range finders, put your galleon on full throttle forever and spam that inci.

Let us all gather and fight it out with novice handicaps by playing with these kinds of handicaps.

Engies carry mallet buff extinguisher with heatsink.

pilots hydro, moon and range finder.

gunners chem or buff with inci, loch and charged.

No spy glasses allowed. erry body range finder.

So been playing Kid Icarus: uprising.

And from what I've heard from many vets is that alliance mode is ridiculously easy, like 1 "vet" team (i.e a team that can point the ship in the right direction and use a common sense build).

So here's a way Sakurai invented to let players choose their own level of challenge in a much better way than the standard 3 difficulties of the retro era.

By having a player set a difficulty from a score of 2 by default, but the player can lower it to 0.0 to 9.0. Where the player must pay proportionate to the increase away from 2.0.

So this means enemies dmg increases (or decrease) and enemy hp increases accordingly.


But the rewards for it are also proportionate (or do it via muse's way by giving achievements-Sakurai did that but also gives actual rewards for doing it).




for balancing of course it doesn't have to be exactly like 2.0 default. It could be 4.5 or 3.0 as the "normal" mode. Just depends how near impossible it is at the higher lvls. But the proportionate increase doesn't neccesarily have to be 1-1 proportionate.

like 9.0 doesn't have to mean twice as much dmg and hp as 4.5.

Got a dumbass that won't leave that main gun?

Press the knock out button and they are forced to respawn as if they had just jumped the ship. Bam! Your gunner gets his gun back.

So more often than not a mid game join can be utterly fatal because with your crew of iunno 2 AI and a gunner suddenly becomes 1 gunner and 2 players loading in while the ship is under attack.

Thats a definite fatal blow.

Your gunner is the only one fixing or more likely no one has noticed the AI have vanished until much too late and then you die.


If AI existed while the players were still loading in things would be fine. Or if you wanna get fancy remove AI the moment player input is detected.

That is flawed however a player can load in and move around but can't interact because tools and components haven't rendered yet.


Hence a nice solid 20 seconds or so should be enough to soften the blow.

If a pilot ragequits and that ship dies

and a new pilot joins during respawn screen.

The pilot can choose to spawn as the last ship they have on.

Certainly makes stomps less common as reverse stomps can happen.

So I discussed with muse before that there needs to be an award for achieving old lvl 15.

And not some terrible title (seriously the dude who came up with some of these is is eh...)

Anyway I say the ability to name AI that will consistently spawn with that name. Numbers and other non-alphabetical characters allowed seeing as its an AI and not a player. Plus seeing as its your own personal AI it doesn't have to be unique and other people can use the given name (hence no conflicts with winner of tourneys getting to name a "wild" AI). Infinite renames or 1 rename after the first to create that nuzlocke effect.

Only thing would be the ability to still censor the usual bad words and it should be fun, yet harmless.

Or better yet. Call back to the old days when AIs looked like players and you get a human looking AI  which you can dress as you see fit.

But apparently muse prides itself on the accuracy of its MMR system.

So why not base lvls on that?

ability to set up a up a vet game lobby but no ability to recruit from match making?
The heck are those lost souls in vet game MM looking for?

also underdog vet game wins can go die in a fire. Vets mostly know to keep things even so underdog is unheard of unless artificially created.

If you look at the control scheme you can map a button to do secondary fire like unreal tourney.

Why isn't that a thing yet?
What would the secondary fire be and how would it be balanced?
What universal philosophy/template when thinking of the secondary version of guns?

Also cargo hooks. Thats also there, function with not yet added function.

Will it seriously hurt that bad to force people to play that short as hell tutorial?

It literally takes less than 4 minutes in most cases.

I've been thinking and thinking and thinking over it. And I can't see any truly objectively bad reasons for making it required to be so bad as to not allow it.

If you know how to play then you'll breeze through. If you're new then you'll learn how to play (as opposed to being a detriment by not knowing anything).

I do know some things need to be taught different like repair priority and rebuild priority. I mean yeah hull is important, ut so many times I see unrebuilt balloon because they just dont get how important it is in a game about FLYING.

Hence AI are taught to memorise repair priority is engines, hull, balloon, guns
while rebuilds are balloon, hull, engines, guns.

But the tutorial doesn't teach this mantra, so you get people that just really cannot understand what a broken component does in terms of effecting the ships ability. I mean you could try teaching it via the piloting tutorial perhaps and really show it as you as a pilot watch your ship dies from no balloon and cant move from no engines?

and the ping shows up like a captain spot in the form of a floating arrow in the middle of a coordinate.
