Feedback and Suggestions / Re: Spectator Ship
« on: April 01, 2016, 01:58:13 pm »
The spectator ship should be allowed to move, and appear as a ghost ship, white and transparent with a creepy fog at its rear, it can do no damage, it can not be damaged, it has no physical presence...

The ghost ship!

Oh come on, the Ryder Cup is intended to be a seperate tournament, not an SCS replacement.

Team of Ryder's and every non-ryder team who signs up gets to queue for Ryder stomping privilage!
Winners get a title "Honorary Ryder"

;)

Good read, and food for thought, I'll have to start digging into the lore again..

You mean how ships go up up up then decend then kinda level out?  I'm still trying to master that mechanic.

Yeah that's the trick, fantastic when done right (Ayetach comes to mind.)

Really gets on my nerves, the way you can bounce like that
How come?

When I hear such people, I do as I always have done.
Press add time and type into chat:
"Sorry I hit the wrong button, missed ready and hit add time."
or
"I heard ready up, so I added time."

Reactions to this can be absolutely hilarious.

Feedback and Suggestions / Re: Harpoon damage
« on: March 26, 2016, 08:46:39 am »
I was playing a match the other night (last night?) with some vets (who visit this forum). One of them kept taking pyramidion with mine / harpoon.

Anyways, multiple times I did not notice we were harpooned until I noticed the rope.

A few times I noticed because I was trying to reverse.

My point is: I should have noticed the harpoon hit each and every time. My lack of harpoon awareness was not due to my incompetence (for those that will try to attack me for that).

Because whoever shot the poon did not click to pull, I noticed the same thing against harpoons recently too, not enough people are clicking after the shot, they're leaving the gun to do repairs or buffs or spots, which is why I agree with Dementio, the pull should be automatic.

Yes (which is why squids can sit on top of a galleon's balloon at height ceiling. I think. I don't actually know other than from playing the game.)
I'm pretty sure galleons can momentarily bypass the flight ceiling from posture + weight alone, just like how they're extremely resistant to the trade winds.
They can and with a coordinated crew and pilot it is one way to stop a squid blending a galleon, as long as the person shooting knows that they're going to have arcs for a few seconds, a well placed close range blast (hwacha or heavy carro) can save the galleon from the squid, it's only a few seconds window though.

This is something I suggested a long time ago, and if I remember rightly, something Howard or Matthew (devs) said they will look at doing after Alliance is finished. Nothing too in-depth like a town or city, but maybe a tavern or other social gathering spot. :)

I love the idea of a defend your base thing. Been thinking about it for a while and the only person that gets screwed is captain.

Would still be awesome though.

I disagree with planes as well. They go against every mechanic of the game. Unless you mean the giant planes with multiple crew members. At which point we might as well get rid of the wings and replace them with balloons.

Also, isnt the name Maximillian Jazzhand?
He will always be Ceresbane to me, no matter what new name he wears. :)

Ceresbane is one of the first vets I played with outside of Novice, I actually learnt a lot from him.

i'm still going to push to have them include a version of retrieve where people are on both sides fighting for a neutral balloon while each sides's airplanes and AI controlled ships from alliance push with the player controlled ships.

i heard they planned to include an attack/defend game where one side is in a fortress and the other is in airships. that would absolutely make player controlled airplanes appropriate and alos amazing

wouldn't that mean they'd need to spend time building up the pilot mechanics for planes? And it took them two years or so just to create a new mode using existing mechanics. At which point why would anyone play Guns of Icarus proper when they can play ace combat? Airplanes just aren't the coop spirit of the game.

Its essentially leading the game towards star wars battlefront and battlefield which is not a direction I can see muse taking.

As cool as the idea is, I agree with Ceresbane.

1 and 3, 1 AND 3! It would have made sense if they had only ported the first game, or for that matter the third, but no! NO! They ported both the first game AND the third, completely skipping the second, why? Microsoft you damned weirdos why?

I know!! :'(
The annoying thing is if they'd ported the second, it may have been enough sales to fund the next project (legends I think it was called?)

Yeah Muse confirmed it's the balance patch issues which is why they've been behind on the competition, I showed them the thread though and they'll be on it ASAP.

Depressingly Lion Head Studios is not looking too good business wise, now I already own the Fable games, but having discovered Fable on Steam I picked it up.
Cheesy humour, cheesy game, great fun.
