I like actual water related physics and not waves of literal gluey steel.

I had that bug where you can fall off the ship and walk around (while the game is frozen) on water hazard once, the water is actually completely insubstantial, its just only 1-2m deep.

This is super confusing.... in game it says next event is this one but coming to the thread it looks like it already passed??

is there an event coming up or not? Also why send people to a forum page for a sign up, send them to a single page web form, even a google form would be better than this.

This is a terrible way to handle sign ups for an event.

Unsure on when the next event is, but to answer about external site or Google docs sign ups..
Official forums are always the first place to check for community and developer run events and thus the easiest place for people to sign up, adding an additional site for sign ups adds additional work for organisers beyond what they already have to do and often adds an additional hurdle sometimes additional registrations many people would not be willing to do.

The original idea was to put all the participating names into a cup. Then Lueosi would close his eyes and pick a name. That name would be the winner of the week. I think there were issues locating a cup for this to go through though.

No, the names of everyone participating would be put in a cup and Lueosi would pick the names to fill 3 ships, those three ships would have to go against three Ryder ships to win the Ryder Cup which is just the first prize of the Tri-Ship-Tournament!

As the ship gains weight it looses its up mobility, imagine a weighted pyra, could ram an empty galleon and make it spin like a squid on Claw.

The spectator ship should be allowed to move, and appear as a ghost ship, white and transparent with a creepy fog at its rear, it can do no damage, it can not be damaged, it has no physical presence...

This is a sound idea. Also, the character models should be regular models but with bed sheets draped over their head and little eye holes.

One of the better methods is to have one engineer on the balloon, one engineer on armor, and one engineer on turn engines. Once you get the ship lined up the captain jumps off the helm and fires. It is a high risk high reward setup but keeps the ship fully repaired.
