The Lounge / A fond farewell.
« on: May 19, 2016, 02:36:33 am »
Hey all,

As some of you may or may not have noticed (or cared, who cares.) It's been a while since I logged in, hell even when I did log in it was briefly for shorter periods of time than normal, and today I finally quit.

Yup, quit, I've emailed Muse stepping down as a teacher/CA entirely, given them my reasoning why. I've explained to my good friends in the dev team why I've uninstalled too, and now I come here to say farewell to the community.

Farewell.

If you wanted to keep in touch feel free to add me on steam (My name: [♫] Kamoba )

May you all have fair winds and clear skies.

The Pit / A legitimate Boarding suggestion!
« on: September 07, 2015, 06:40:49 am »
It's in the pit, because although it's legitimate, it's something the Devs may not agree with! 8)

I think, every time someone suggests boarding, we should stalk their steam profiles, find their most played games, and post feedback and suggestions to those games, for more air-ships to be added for airship combat and the possibility of boarding.

Queso, I summon thee! For I have a suggestion for you and your team!

It should be mandatory at the start or finish of a weekly practice, that a photo such as this is taken.

The Gallery / Another leather thing.
« on: August 17, 2015, 04:56:20 pm »

"The night was dark and the squid sat silently in great Canyons waiting, they knew a shipment would be due to come through, and the Mercantile Guild had promised a lot of coin for the delivery of these goods, yet the gunners of the ship struggled to find things to do during the long waiting process, the pilot smoked his pipe while the engineer tinkered with his tools and some leather, making himself a wrist cuff, hoping the symbol of the mythical sky whales would bring them luck in the fight to come."

This genuine leather bracelet is hand-made out of a high quality 4mm thick veg-tanned leather, coloured using an acrylic based dye for the centre piece and a self mixed brown dye for a vintage brown, this bracelet holds good water resistant properties due to the real Bee Hive wax buffed into the leather as part of the finish process, adding protection and shine with a natural product.

So I had a scrap piece of 6mm thick leather left over from some armour and a bit of spare time... So I made this.

you can find it here on etsy if you're interested. https://www.etsy.com/listing/240401069/ thanks to Muse for permission to use their logo!

I also made some other keyrings...

The Cantina / ((Something to consider!))
« on: June 18, 2015, 02:20:21 pm »
((Yeah I know, an OOC thread in the cantina, but it is solely a thread for roleplayers, an idea I thought you might like just based on what I've observed.. :)

So it seems to be a regular occurrence that your players end up on an expedition or quest of some sort, one which, for many parts could be replicated in game! :)
Back when I ran guilds in Lord of the Rings online and WoW and Ultima Online, I would give clan members tasks to do and ask for "Written reports" to be handed in detailing what had happened during their task, and they players would do this task in game, and take screenshots while performing this task, for example a guardsman was tasked with clearing the undead from the cemetery so the mayors wife could visit her mothers tomb. The guard done screenies of the initial clean up, then done screenshots escorting the mayors wife, guarding her (from the respawns) from.further attacks.

So I was thinking, what if you guys and girls acted these expeditions out in game, took screenshots and then wrote it up on.forums as if in progress?
Just something I was pondering over... :) ))

The Pit / Necromancy, Conjuration and other ritualistic summonings.
« on: June 18, 2015, 02:11:41 pm »
This thread is dedicated to Summoning the powers greater than ours..

We all know how to summon The Rethburn, if you do not.. The tome of power can be found in the deep dark recesses of the Pit.

Abbeytherat, another greater power of which can be summoned to deal with serious threats!

And the Queso may be summoned by opening a thread in The Pit with his name on it...
The question is.. Do you know his name?!?!

I do! I therefore have the power to summon The Queso! Mwahahaha!

With great power comes.great responsibility...

Hail fellow aeronauts, tinkerers, powder monkeys, swabbies and confabulators!

I have found an inconceivable tool for which can be used to improve (and add more steampunk) to the posts of all!
http://www.etymonline.com/

Hamster I imagine knows the existence of this already, and Jacob, but its still a fun tool!

Steam Workshop / Voice command packs.
« on: March 20, 2015, 12:32:30 pm »
By popular demand I have begun the process of teaching my toddlers the in-game voice commands, as I get closer to this I find myself realising, how should I actually make this?!

Is there anyone able to help point me in the right direction to get started on the Toddlers Voice packs. (male and female)

Gameplay / Metamidion vs Gat Artemis Pyramidion.
« on: March 18, 2015, 08:38:52 pm »
So today in Ryder mumble came a discussion about metamidion versus Gatling Artemis Pyramidion, and it was a good chat, so I want to bring up the same discussion here! :)

Metamidion (Gatling Mortar, third is normally banshee, flamer or Artemis)
Versus
Gatling Artemis pyramidion. (third is normally Artemis or Banshee)

I personally find Gatling Artemis a very dominant ship against the metamidion, with a lot of success, especially in situations where you can split the enemy and force them into 1v1 situations.

But what do you all think? :)

The Pit / Oil Rig Simulator! (AKA Co-op.)
« on: February 17, 2015, 12:58:39 pm »
For those who follow the main page, you'll understand what I mean with Oil Rig Simulator...

Now I was actually thinking today, It would actually be a good mini-game to add into co-op... King of the hill, but you're not just defending the point, the point is an oil rig, and not only do you have to defend it but maintain it too but sitting at it's sky-dock, dropping off your engineer who now has the ability to repair all the components on the rig....
or you could opt to defend the rig and repair in-between waves, both tactics have their own risks, risk your ship struggling to keep up with repairs or risk the rig taking too much damage to be lost?!....

Anyway... just thought I'd share that thought with you all because I thought it was a fun idea.

Feedback and Suggestions / Experience Gains - Post MM.
« on: February 02, 2015, 07:33:13 am »
Hello ladies and gentlemen!
I'd like to address a small piece of feedback regarding the Experience gains of Guns of Icarus.

As wonderfully happy as I am that I now have my Elite pilot costume (Which is amazingly awesome!) I do feel that having only joined Guns of Icarus in October that the experience gain is a little bit too fast as I've near the pilot level cap with 660 matches.

The speed of which experience is gained makes being a "novice" almost pointless as you'll have hit level 7 within as many matches making the learning curve harder as the novice is so short lived (for the ones who stay in novice) that they're unaware they even finished Novice..
They then get pitted against vets, and start leaving after losses....

Increasing the level required to finish novice would not be a great help, but maybe scaling the experience rate would...

Just my two cents...
