General Discussion / Re: Pilot engi tools and ammos?
« on: April 20, 2015, 10:27:23 pm »
Would be funny if the helm did catch fire, and 20 stacks would kick the pilot off. No damage to the ship, just the fire lock.

Could be tied in with hull heat.

What if...

When hull, balloon, and engines are all broken, the helm is also broken, and the pilot is kicked off?

But nah... I'd still want to be doing drogue chute or something...

'Murican government is a strange beast. I think we actually shut down for a little while to figure out how to spend the money we didn't actually have to begin with.

The NSA is gonna hunt me down for mentioning this.

Nah, NSA will record you. It'd be something else that hunts you down...

America is one of the oldest functioning democracy/republic in the world. Hence, it has bunch of problems.

74.) Thou shalt not pilot. Period. Thou art an engineer. :P

*We need a thread for piloting creeds maybe?*

Imagine if engineers actually had to load the Pilot items into the engines and fuel tanks themselves?

Nah.. that'd be too complicated.
And engineers might refuse to put stuff into fuel tanks *cough* callsign striker *cough*

And engineers might load things at wrong times.

But I like the idea of flare setting fire on tar clouds. That somehow makes sense and it'd be fun.

Talking about land-based vehicles in GOIO...

I want to see:

A ridiculous towers with turrets that's run by steampunk magic/demon.

And although not a vehicle:

An Ohmu.

Not exactly copies of these things, but something similar. I'd love to duke it out against a land-siege worm.

Hmm... If we were to explain Dakka...

We'd have to explain the entire culture of Warhammer 40K Orks... That's a whole buncha stuff.

But in summary:

You need moh' bigga Dakka.

The hope of a strafing ship lies with NASA!

70.) Thou shalt not unscrew the engines.
71.) Thou shalt not unscrew the guns and reposition them.
72.) Thou shalt whack things with your tools, never screw or unscrew with your tools.

Feedback and Suggestions / Re: Kero Claw Alternative

I'm thinking...

x00% Engine Thrust
No Increase or Decrease in Drag
xx damage per second to the engines
Perhaps even x damage per second to hull/balloon.

A tool that gives everything the ship can give... I want it tested.

But ever since I stopped piloting Pyramidion, I've not used claw that much. Sometimes on Spire, but almost no other time.

Q&A / Re: Chem Spray vs Extinguisher
« on: April 17, 2015, 09:14:39 am »
Just had a thought about the fire extinguisher...

If you are a gunner, and you know you are going to face a flamethrower a lot, bring a fire extinguisher. Even if you bring heatsink.
A good flamethrower will focus their flames onto a gun, such that the gun is quickly disabled. And a flamethrower needs only a short window to put 10+ stacks of fire on a component.

And we've all been there. When your gun is too hot to shot. You can call down an engineer, and watch him try to cool your gun with Chem Spray. That's like that guy you called about your internet, not fast enough. Instead, you can let the gun break, and rebuild it, which also isn't fast enough.

Instead, you can bring an extinguisher, and put out your own fires. Unlike engineers, you can do your stuff while extinguisher is on cool down. If the gun gets too hot again, just spray it again, and get back on.
You could bring chem spray and heatsink to try an expert maintenance and keep your gun off fire, but that kinda reduces your dps, and some guns just won't work like that.

So yeah, gunner with extinguisher. A thought.

Its a good feedback. Sometimes, we need some positive feedbacks like this. Feedbacks don't always have to be criticism.

I agree with you Likkly. This is the only gaming community I really enjoy. Others are way, way to toxic. Too many "Stop Asking Questions and Get Good" people on other games.

The nature of the game, and members of our community, creates a very mature and accepting mood. And I like that.
