With two kittens, Callsign Striker suffers a Catsplosion.




Indreams wisely stays off the red button is pressed.

If we can have the old flares, without that 5-flare Mobula troll clan blowing up my graphics card, that'd be great.

The new ones? I don't think I've even noticed we had new flares. Just figured that people weren't using them...

Goldfish

Lumberfish
Star: Gunner
Honorable Mention: Pilot

Good gunner on a Lumberjack is golden, but the pilot will need to keep the ship steady.

Flakfish
Star:Gunner (Especially with Lochnagar)
Honorable Mention: Ally ship with piercing damage.

I've seen Flakfish gunners wreck havoc, sniping out hull shredded enemy ships at 1500m. But that's only if the ally can shred enemy hull.

Pyramidion

Ram-Oriented Pyramidion
Star: Main Deck Engineer
Honorable Mention: The Other Main Deck Engineer
Dunce: The Captain (for choosing such build at the moment)

Back when Melon was around, Gilder was happy with the Squid, and the Pyramidion was tad bit strong, Ramidion reigned supreme. It can still work, but somebody will smash in the captain's skull with a mallet.

Minemidion (Pyra w/ Mine)
Star: Top Deck Engineer/Gunner (whoever is mining)
Honorable Mention: Pilot (w/ perfect trifecta piloting)

On every mine-build, the guy on the mine has to be amazing. But if the captain can get the trifecta with the Minemidion, mixing in fires or bullets or explosives with the mine, it is godly.


Then, I want to edit something

Spire

Brawler (Gats + Hwacha or Heavy Flak)
Star: Gunner Pilot
Honorable Mention: Main Engineer

Put H-Flak/Hwacha with Gat on the sides, then put a mortar on the top front gun (close to helm). An active pilot will fly the ship, hammer with mortar, and maintain the hull at the same time. In my opinion, the gunner on a Brawler Spire doesn't have to do anything extra-ordinary to make the build work.

Love how the Pilot is not at all important on pyramidion. Doesn't matter if you have master +1000 matches pilot. The current pyra just won't fly.

So, I'm thinking...

Charging Minotaur shots increases accuracy and decreases that buckshot spread. Maybe even give a slight increase to push force.

I'm not sure how that will work with other ammo types, such as heavy rounds.


Unless every gun gets to charge a shot with stamina, Pairing charging shots with stamina doesn't seem too sensible. As I assume LeMoon was pointing out, stamina and charing shots seem to be completely different mechanics.

Q&A / Pilot Loadouts with Stamina and Stuff

Seeing that I've given Guns of Icarus a 2 month downtime, I want to get back into fighting on air. I piloted a match yesterday, which felt very different from the way I remembered.

Thing is, with Stamina and changes to Flamer and H.Carronade, I need to rework my Pilot loadout.

Stamina is like a basic pilot tool that turns essential tools optional.
Flamer and H.Carronade used to be what my pilot tools revolved around. Since they are less of a marked-for-death guns, I think I can drop a couple of my pilot tools.

What do you guys think? And how do you loadout your pilot for each ship?

Sometimes, I like to close my eyes and pretend that that's how real physics works. Even though I'm a physics major and all.

84.) Thou shalt not sink a pyramidion with a blink of your eye.
85.) Thou shalt not mallet to hard on a pyramidion, lest it sinks.

I think we've had many ideas tossed around about a heavy piercing weapon.

Personally, any one of them is cool. But personally, I'd like to see the minotaur tweaked first.

For a new gun, the minotaur was rather, well, disappointing...

I haven't played a lot since the change, but dual hwacha stun lock was a thing before. Especially for less experienced crews in 2v2s.

A good pilot can maneuver out of it. An experienced engineer can prioritize repairs to avoid prolonged stun. A practiced gunner can quickly disable a hwacha.


It's easy to counter a dual hwacha galleon. Of course, I am a little dated. But I doubt the above changed much.

Some time after I started going by Hamster Mk 4, a friend sent me this image. I think it epitomizes what it means to be a weaponized hamster.



I don't know if that is brilliant or exceedingly cruel. I am leaning towards the latter.

User name has always been a tricky thing for me. I could never figure out a good one.

In Dreams is one of the soundtracks from Lord of the Rings. When I in middle school, I would play that on my Euphonium.

I made my steam account at that time. I looked about my room and the sheet music for In Dreams caught my eye. I've gone with it since then. Turns out InDreams isn't one of those names always taken by someone on the Internet.


In games that allow for multiple characters/save files (like Lord of the Rings Online or Mount and Blade) or just role-play sessions, I have a name for specific characters.


InDreams - my general, main character. Usually non-warrior.

Kurudan - The male (dwarven if possible) warrior character, or any character that can smash enemies to the ground.

Balisarda - The female (usually elf or man) dex fighter or sorceress.

Leonhart - The leader. Leonhart is my lvl 55 Emperor of Calradia in my Mount and Blade Warband. He is also a charismatic Warlord in one of our D&D sessions. Sadly, he never makes appearance online as Leonhart is almost always taken by some one who doesn't even play.
