Feedback and Suggestions / Not sure if glitch or not.
« on: April 02, 2017, 01:56:45 am »
The difficulty thing isn't always there when joining a match mid-game. It pops up right before entering the game most times. Furthermore, it doesn't actually say the difficulty.

I have a number of questions and it may potentially be feedback. It will be a question / picture format.

Are the Grandmaster acheivments supposed to be this way? They are all a set number of matches on Hard difficulty but seem to have no consistency in how many matches must be won. Edit: Ahh, lightbulb turned on. They are set this way because of the rewards. The rewards go weapon, ship, weapon, ship. I get it now.

Is there a progress bar that tells me when I will unlock a skill? Is there a way to see what skills are currently locked?

Similar to the character skills, is there a reason why the weapons are not on this selection screen but greyed out? I know I can find the weapons in the rewards section but that does not tell me the gun's stats, just the description. Can I find the stats anywhere in-game?

Only two of each faction's Resource Goals have a ratio: in this picture 5/23 oil and 22/33 wheat. I'm assuming this is the resources we need and the others without the ratio, I.E 28 lumber are what we have but do not need. I think I'm right.

I see the Grandmaster acheivment that I pointed out earlier is a method in which I can unlock the other faction's assets. I think. Right? Is this just a tougher way of doing it / a way I can do it without swapping factions?

I'm not too sure what the My Faction Standings means. My number is 594. Is this relative to something? Is it how much reputation I have? Ahh, nevermind. I see it now. It is my reputation. I'll post this anyways cause I was honestly confused for a bit till the lightbulb turned on (i'm not the brightest person)

Is there any way to see how many members other factions have? Like a pie chart or something? Or do I have to swap factions / ask to find out?

Also, the prestige thing. Is there any information about that in-game?

Thanks for your time. These were all honest questions and confusions I had.

General Discussion / My personal issue with GOIO
« on: March 29, 2017, 11:41:10 pm »
I checked out the three lobbies. Canyon Ambush was semi balanced. Ashen Scuffle (the one I left) was empty. Paritan Rumble was unbalanced (all based on numbers and what I know of the players). Regardless, I wish there was a way I could conviniently pull all these players into the same lobby. There were a number of not green names that were level 20s and 30s that I would have liked to pull as well to make a decently balanced 3v3 lobby.

Some may not find this an issue because they don't mind playing with lower levels. I personally find playing with those less than level 20 to be too inconsistent for me. It varies from awesome to facepalm too much.

General Discussion / Dafuq
« on: March 24, 2017, 09:05:09 pm »
Why is this forum dead all the sudden? Time to start conversing again!

Its been like 3 weeks since anything interesting has popped up. . . ish.

Here are some conversing points that we can discuss so as to bring some interesting material to this forum:

Skirmish Mode:
Skyball
Balancing issues
Vet lobbies
Builds that are less than viable (banshee mortar on a pyra today - I didn't even stay in the lobby.)
Friends list (why is it people can friend anonymously - kinda odd. . . )
Solidusbucket organizing SCS
More SCS participants
Ship difficulty
Tools - rangefinder still exists, impact bumpers are useless. . .

cmon people
lets get discussing.

kthanksbye/

edit:
ps.
 oh yea, alliance mode.

Um...
Inflitration?
New special abilities?

Um.... make more alliance maps into pvp (I actually like the ashen scuffle - its like duel at dawn but not)
um.... make alliance / skirmish more integrated ( i really want alliance rewards for winning SCS.) - you should too muse. get all of the people into alliance.

pps. I'm drunking. Sorry for typos / incoherence.
PPPS  - my wife is mad at me for cursing while she was doing facebook live stuff. I got her kicked out of a group as a result. I had to LOL in secret. Though I kinda feel like a dick. Still funny tho.

ppps. My hot pocket is done. yaaay. I put it in an oven. . . not a microwave - for those wondering.

Community Events / Weekly Competitive Tournament
« on: March 21, 2017, 02:06:09 pm »
Join us every Sunday at 7pm UTC (3pm EDT) in the only weekly tournament of Guns of Icarus: Sunday Community Skirmish.
We have made it easier than ever to participate:

First, form a team of 2 ships (8 players). An easy place to start this task is the Sunday Community Skirmish Discord Server. Simply sign on and ask around. Second, check out the Rulebook. It contains a TLDR section for your convenience. Third, visit the weekly Sign-up Post and register your team.

Are you looking to help run the tournament?

We have spots available for Referees and Casters. This may be your new hobby. Referees need to know the rules fairly well - there is a section in the rulebook that simplifies the entire process.
Casters only need the hardware/software to stream and the drive to entertain an audience. Visit the Discord Server and we'll get you spun up.

Maybe you want to be the audience? Check out the Discord Server, Sign-up Post, or the event Tournament Bracket the day of the event for a link to the stream.

Rewards are available for participating, placing 1st or 2nd, reffing, and casting. See the Rulebook for more details.

General Discussion / SCS Referee Titles
« on: March 09, 2017, 08:21:32 pm »
Please share your ideas on what titles should be rewarded to referees for SCS

I need ideas for titles. Below is what must be done to earn a specific title.

Unique titles:
1. Have previously been a referee before implementation of titles (received the next time they ref scs)
2. Ref on DST (Summer)
3. Ref on DST (Winter)
4. Ref on St. Patricks Day Weekend. Note: This goes for all relativley popular holidays.
5. Ref on Easter
ETC....

Standard Titles:
These are based on total times refereeing for SCS.

1,4,8,12,24,36,48

I would like these 7 standard titles to fit some sort of progression theme. It should feel like the titles get better / more prestigious. (sorta like what we have now for our titles in leveling)

The most important to figure out at this time are the standard titles, have previously reffed for SCS, and refereeing on DST (Summer).

All ideas will be saved on a google docs sheet found here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Hs3MldubPcN5oRUXGzI5b2YI7csGhIivsD-rdL0uqiA/edit?usp=sharing

Community Events / SCS Notice
« on: March 08, 2017, 01:27:16 am »
Same post as in discord:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1LVbfNrriOMwxzjwHDYwvYtRbVJadEA6QH1oNjJfQBYg/edit?usp=sharing
Google Docs

These are changes to the rules I am proposing.

The Round Robin is more of a fix to make it a better experience for everyone. It also makes the rules more clear (I see no reason to deny the change). The overtime proposal is a fundamental change to the rule and could drastically change the way SCS is played. I personally think it will be a nice change for several reasons but I need your feedback.

side note: I'm editing the rules to fix it gramatically, make it more concise, and overall make it an easier read. If there are any writers on here please take the time to look it over once I am done editing it. The goal is to make it use active voice throughout the entire document and eliminate unecessary repetetive language.
Thanks for your time.

Please ignore the formatting. It looks much better than that in my word document.
