The "poop deck" is the lower deck on bigger ships, where people go if they have to defecate and the official toilet is already occupied or out of order.
The poop deck is officially the lower one, as multiple attempts, expecially on civilian ships, to poop from higher decks ended up with many a man b img covered in stinky, sticky, turd.

Usually used to refer to a frayed, old harpoon rope, as the rope is much easier to break than usual.

The Valhallan jig is refered to as "the Drunken pirate twerking"
Which is a condition where if we allow a skycaptain to drink copious amounts of hard liguor strong enough to paralyze three skywhales, he or she, will often jump up onto the nearest elevated surface, usually a table, and commit the act of shaking their ass and right leg like a form of dancing.

Unfortunately, this is NOT SIMPLY a form of dance.
In actuality, the person's liver has been overwhelmed in alchohol and has subsequently shut itself down in an attempt to preserve itself. Usually the person passes out before hand, but by some strange phenomenon, the person continues to drink. Given how much alchohol the person has consumed, they will not notice the Intense burning sensation and feeling of numbness where their liver is located and continue to drink.
Within an average of three minutes later, the alchohol concentration in their blood begins to paralyze their lower body starting with their right leg.
The shaking is caused by the left leg violently trying to move while slowly losing their motor functions and them climbing is a cry for help from their subconcious.

There is no cure.
The only cure is to use a flare gun on them and set them ablaze as the valhallan jig slowly shuts down the victims organs. They will die not knowing they ARE dying.
So the fire lets them know and expedites the slow process.

There are an average of 437 cases a year.
Drink responsibly.

Rather obvious.  When a whole ship full of incompetents is executed on board, and the next crew assigned usually has to mop up the blood.  Often practiced by the Baronies.

An example of humanity trying to prove that what they like is better than someone else despite each side having their own strengths and weaknesses.

Its kinda like the Anime vs manga debate, or the conflicts over religion.
All of them are equally stupid and you shouldnt give a shit about how they are better than someone else and just appriciate for what they are.

But you know...Humanity.

Refers to a peculiar type of attack used by a sonic weapon called the Bassian Resonator.  Supposedly based off of an old world music type, often called EDM, or Electronic Dance Music, known for the heavy use of high powered bass effects.  The Bassian Drop is when the device is overcharged, releasing a massive "dub wave" of epic proportions.  The pressure caused from smaller variations can pop eardrums and disrupt the inner ear.  Larger, heavy mounts may shift the position of crewmen at close range, deflect slow moving projectiles like Hades shots, and more serious cases of the symptoms mentioned above.  It is theorized that a large enough Bassian Resonator, with enough energy, could produce enough sonic overpressure to snap bones, bruise flesh, or even partially liquefy a grown man.

Like then name suggests, the Hurricane gatling cannon is a weapon seen by many as a monstrosity, since its raw firepower capabilities.
Counting over 4 (and even more if the engineers have the permission to modify it) standard gatling guns all attached to each other, the Hurricane is the weapon of choice of heavy ships and fortresses to deal with lighter airships and planes.
While having enough ammo to keep the gun firing for more than a few minutes is often a logistical nightmare, it pays off during combat, as everything short of a Galleon class airship will have all it's reactive armor stripped down and the crewmen torn to shreds.

Anduin's song is the music made when you slit a mans throat while simultaneously blowing air down his mouth, closing and opening his wound to produce different tunes.

Apparently used in ritual sacrifices by a long gone cult of mad men. They believed that killing family and loved ones this way would allow their beloved enter the next life, free of strife and burden, carried by the song of their own mutilated throat. Some last second tonguing may have happened too, but scholars are as of now undecided.

"A moist tangerine" actually has two definitions.

The first one being slang or a pun or sorts in the old tongue of chaladon to some form of sexual position in bed or the use of fruits in bed. How? Well...thats not important or appropriate. Ask a chaladon.
It could also be derogatory to a person that sleeps around and destroys relationships, but the point is...
The first definition is ambiguously sexual.

The second one is much more violent.
It refers to an assasination manuver by Arashi sand raiders in which a pair of high speed squids rapidly disconnect the balloon of their victim at high altitude and accellerate the falling ship with harpoons into the ground. The result is the victim ship promptly collapsing in on itself and crushing everything with the force of gravity.
Where does tangerine come from? Its a crude remark to the amount of guts, blood, and brain matter splattered all over the walls when a salvage ship discovers a victim ship killed this way.

Sundered Nostalgia is the name that Chaladonians give to the cataclysm that damaged the world at the end of the great war.

Detects aggression (somehow) within people by measuring brainwaves in it's surrounding environment.

Alarms usually take the form of beating drums.

The badge of the shattered engine is a derogatory trinket given to engineers who have survived an engine exploding in their face.

The reason it's an insult to engineers is because...to quote an engineer..."if he fixed it right, it wouldn't have exploded in his face to begin with. Captains abuse em and gunners wreck them, so the fact they didnt explode before this engi shows this engis incompetence."

A night in which heretical skysailors burn black squids. They whish do this to express their rage at good squids. The squid's are black, because "evil" things are apparently black.
All in all it's a pretty stupid and heretical festival celebrated by squid-attack survivors.
