I was writing this when Skymonger beat me to the punch, but I don't wanna waste it...
When Captain Strangherl witnessed his home town burnt to cinders by a group of raiders, he took his Galleon, his crew, and fought off 4 raider ships simultaneously, knowing that he would be torn to shreds by their incoming reinforcements. After taking out the first four, his ship was in tatters. Making a decision, he steamed straight for the leader's Squid, under full moonshine, buffed engines, and willing the ship to go faster. The squid was torn almost in half from the impact, and as the two ships plummeted towards the cold ground of Firnfield, Strangherl jumped ship, onto the enemy squid, and seized ahold of the Captain. Whispering into the raider's ear, hands around his neck, he said, "Do you know the difference between choking and strangulation?"
Bathed in the glow of dying fires, when they finally hit the ground the broken, asphyxiated body of the enemy captain broke Strangherl's fall.
Nonetheless, he took his surviving crew and disappeared into the night, only to be heard of in legends and tall tales about a single Galleon, tattered and half wrecked, destroying whole patrols of slavers and raiders before vanishing into the mists.
All deceased enemy crewmen found in the wreckage had telltale bruising around their necks.
-A story passed around campfires by drunk sailors. Based very much in truth.
Yesha's Thunder Run is an extremely treacherous group of narrow canyons, barely wide enough for an airship. Named such because the echo of engines reverberating through it in the right way sounds like crashing thunder in a lightning storm.
