The Hades Cannon is an occult item which channels the power of the Greek neither world onto the mortal plane. Since its damage type is super natural not physical it is the only weapon that can effect enemy crew. After a sufficient number of direct hits (five IRCC) the targeted crew member will be whisked away to the land of the dead where they will be forced to perform repairs on Charon's ferry.

People walk on two feet because if they walked on one foot, they'd really be hopping, not walking.

Showing hospitality to a crewman by proving boarding (meals and drink) enables that crewman to accomplish more during their stay on your ship than if they had to provide their own meals and drink. Further more a communal food fosters a spirit of community that allows the crew to act as one. As Reverend Mother Gaius Helen Mohiam (from Dune) once said "He must lay the best coffee hearth to attract the finest men." Once you have the finest men victory will come easily.

The word 'squid' is derived from an old celtic word, 'squiidtah', which loosely translates to 'toppler of the floating mountain'.

Why exactly did Muse decide to name the ship 'mobula', instead of 'manta ray'?

They named it in honor of Count Mobula, the greatest shipbuilder the order of Chaldon has ever seen. He was also a vampire, but that's a story for another day.

In the early days powder monkeys carried both the blasting caps and the charge for the cannon in one load. Unfortunately powder monkeys would often slip on the blood soaked deck. If the blasting cap and charge were to fall at the wrong angle the whole ship could go up in flames. Now a days the common practice is to send two powder monkeys, one with the charge and the other with the blasting caps. In the event of a slip there is less chance of a disaster.

This statement is false!

The 6th mine causes the first to explode because the 6th is the next generation, the 5th mine says goodbye to it's fellow mines, before ritualistically exploding.

The reason Pieman didn't ask a question is because of his username "Piemanlives" is secretly an old arcane chant used by the ship builders of the Mercantile Guild to summon up dozens of pies onto their completed ships. This was purely traditional until they realised a few years later that the pies were delicious and could fetch a high price. Pieman simply didn't want to bury himself in pies.

Originally, Muse planned to have the Galleon have one GIANT gun, but they couldn't decide weather to point it left or right.

They replaced it with 4 medium ones.

During the Age of Dust dust storms coated every surface in the world with a microscopic substance called Harpoonium. Harpoonium is made from the same material as harpoons themselves. So when a harpoon comes into contact with Harpoonium, it instantly disintegrates and is absorbed into the Harpoonium surface. The reason ships are not coated in Harpoonium is because of a special process called Deharpooniumisation. However, this process is incompatible with the balloon, since Harpoonium is naturally attracted to the Handwavium gas inside the balloon. This is why harpoons cannot latch onto balloons.
