Title: The Misinformed Game
Post by: Cheesy Crackers on December 10, 2013, 06:29:40 am
So the aim of this game is to ask a question for the next poster to answer, and also answering the question from the previous poster but the answer you give has to be WRONG! (Or random, or stupid, or crazy, or bad, or half right, or disturbing or....)
Believe in the following information at your own risk

What's a Hades Cannon?
Title: Re: The Misinformed Game
Post by: HamsterIV on December 10, 2013, 11:21:28 am
The Hades Cannon is an occult item which channels the power of the Greek neither world onto the mortal plane. Since its damage type is super natural not physical it is the only weapon that can effect enemy crew. After a sufficient number of direct hits (five IRCC) the targeted crew member will be whisked away to the land of the dead where they will be forced to perform repairs on Charon's ferry.

Why do people walk on two feet?
Title: Re: The Misinformed Game
Post by: Erheller on December 10, 2013, 01:03:54 pm
People walk on two feet because if they walked on one foot, they'd really be hopping, not walking.

Why is boarding OP?
Title: Re: The Misinformed Game
Post by: HamsterIV on December 10, 2013, 01:14:48 pm
Showing hospitality to a crewman by proving boarding (meals and drink) enables that crewman to accomplish more during their stay on your ship than if they had to provide their own meals and drink. Further more a communal food fosters a spirit of community that allows the crew to act as one. As Reverend Mother Gaius Helen Mohiam (from Dune) once said "He must lay the best coffee hearth to attract the finest men." Once you have the finest men victory will come easily.

Why do they call it a "Squid"?
Title: Re: The Misinformed Game
Post by: Gryphos on December 10, 2013, 01:47:23 pm
The word 'squid' is derived from an old celtic word, 'squiidtah', which loosely translates to 'toppler of the floating mountain'.

Why exactly did Muse decide to name the ship 'mobula', instead of 'manta ray'?
Title: Re: The Misinformed Game
Post by: DMaximus on December 10, 2013, 02:28:56 pm
They named it in honor of Count Mobula, the greatest shipbuilder the order of Chaldon has ever seen. He was also a vampire, but that's a story for another day.

Why do Powder Monkeys always seem to arrive in pairs?

Title: Re: The Misinformed Game
Post by: HamsterIV on December 10, 2013, 02:45:49 pm
In the early days powder monkeys carried both the blasting caps and the charge for the cannon in one load. Unfortunately powder monkeys would often slip on the blood soaked deck. If the blasting cap and charge were to fall at the wrong angle the whole ship could go up in flames. Now a days the common practice is to send two powder monkeys, one with the charge and the other with the blasting caps. In the event of a slip there is less chance of a disaster.

Why does the 6th mine cause the 1st mine to explode?

They named it in honor of Count Mobula, the greatest shipbuilder the order of Chaldon has ever seen. He was also a vampire, but that's a story for another day.

This statement is false!

The 6th mine causes the first to explode because the 6th is the next generation, the 5th mine says goodbye to it's fellow mines, before ritualistically exploding.
Title: Re: The Misinformed Game
Post by: Cheesy Crackers on December 10, 2013, 07:59:35 pm
The reason Pieman didn't ask a question is because of his username "Piemanlives" is secretly an old arcane chant used by the ship builders of the Mercantile Guild to summon up dozens of pies onto their completed ships. This was purely traditional until they realised a few years later that the pies were delicious and could fetch a high price. Pieman simply didn't want to bury himself in pies.

Why does a Galleon only have 4 heavy guns?

Title: Re: The Misinformed Game
Post by: James T. Kirk on December 10, 2013, 09:36:56 pm
Originally, Muse planned to have the Galleon have one GIANT gun, but they couldn't decide weather to point it left or right.

They replaced it with 4 medium ones.

Why can't harpoons attach to enviroment?

Title: Re: The Misinformed Game
Post by: Gryphos on December 11, 2013, 08:16:51 am
During the Age of Dust dust storms coated every surface in the world with a microscopic substance called Harpoonium. Harpoonium is made from the same material as harpoons themselves. So when a harpoon comes into contact with Harpoonium, it instantly disintegrates and is absorbed into the Harpoonium surface. The reason ships are not coated in Harpoonium is because of a special process called Deharpooniumisation. However, this process is incompatible with the balloon, since Harpoonium is naturally attracted to the Handwavium gas inside the balloon. This is why harpoons cannot latch onto balloons.

What does a Duck say?
Title: Re: The Misinformed Game
Post by: HamsterIV on December 11, 2013, 01:31:33 pm
Ducks are known for their tight V shaped formation flying. So most messages between Duck Captains pertain to the integrity of their formation.
Common messages are:
"Alter course 15 degrees to port"
"decelerating to throttle setting 2 forward"
"you are drifting away, tighten it up."

How come Spires are so squishy?
Title: Re: The Misinformed Game
Post by: HamsterIV on December 11, 2013, 05:47:03 pm
The spire's balloon is so small that it can only be attached to the hull by a couple strands of dental floss instead of the sturdy rigging seen on most ship. As such only a few bullets are needed to detach the hull from the balloon and send it cascading to earth.

What is the air velocity of Swallow carrying a coconut?
Title: Re: The Misinformed Game
Post by: Cheesy Crackers on December 12, 2013, 10:06:31 am
Velocity = Coconut x Swallow squared. minus air resistance and divide by pi and you get an insect. Swallows eat insects therefore the answer is bacon + coconut = Velocity - insect. Also known as 67 km/h

What happens if said Swallow carrying a coconut impacted a spire.
Title: Re: The Misinformed Game
Post by: Coldcurse on December 12, 2013, 10:15:45 am
The spire will explode due to it's very low health. assuing that Swallow will take a lochnagar coconut to do more damage.

why don't we have landing gear on our airships?
Title: Re: The Misinformed Game
Post by: Orangey on December 12, 2013, 12:17:01 pm
Because the game actually takes place in purgatory. You can not escape, if you die you will just respawn, you will fight and die untill the end of time. There is no use for landing gear because there is no escape form the ship, nor will the ship ever land. Once you hit lvl 15 with all classes you will rise to the heavens and be praised for your courage, a statue of Keanu Reeves will be made to honour your dedication and determination to attone for your sins.

Why does an airship go faster when the captain is drunk on moonshine?
Title: Re: The Misinformed Game
Post by: HamsterIV on December 12, 2013, 12:24:33 pm
It is not that the airship moves faster but the Captain's perception of the world decreases. Thus you get to your destination before you even realize it. Unless you hit a wall first, which is another side effect of driving with moonshine.

Title: Re: The Misinformed Game
Post by: Coldcurse on December 12, 2013, 12:57:11 pm
Why am I to blame for everything :(?

the first person who got blamed of everything was captain phoenix, since he got banned several times we had to find hes reincarnation.
since captain in old mandarin greek latin steampunk means shink, and phoenix in old brazillian swahillian warcraft morse code means beep beep beepbeep beep which translated into normal chinese african is kurex. we found out if you divide 1.726356 times 0.004235 and put those words together, you get your sofi number and name. since you are now the long lost reincarnation of phoenix, we blame phoenix by blameing you.

To be or not to be?
i would like to twist that question in a backfiring answer since the answer lies within the thoughts of every player that has questioned himself bfore by the laws of physical structures provided by the eternal rage of humanity that has developed over the ages nder the watch of the allseeing goddes of the lumberjack fired with lochnagar rounds in a majesticc way nothingcould miss as the bullet travels through time and airspace of the void while you stand on the deck holding a spanner and mallet in your hands and choosing which one to use against fire damage. "Nooby or not Nooby?"

now my question:

Where did the Mobula come from?
Title: Re: The Misinformed Game
Post by: Gryphos on December 14, 2013, 10:06:32 am
It comes from the imagination, and it's here strictly by your invocation. So whadda you say? Why don't we fly a while. It's the heart of flight, it's the rise and fall. When you gotta soar, when you gotta kill them all. You call it and it comes a'flyin', it turns the banshees on, it brings the fun in. Now we're partying, that's what it's all about.

Is it a good ship, "bringin' the fun in"?
Title: Re: The Misinformed Game
Post by: James T. Kirk on December 15, 2013, 12:03:15 pm
Ironically, a 'good ship' is horrible at 'bringing the fun in,' simply because of temporal loops.

Having two positives is such close proximity creates a loop of 'zero space' wherein upon entering (which isn't hard, bringing fun on a good ship acts as a magnet to zero space) you are transported to the very moment you left, with only slight displacement.

This is more commonly know as 'lag.'

Where does all this ammo keep coming from?

The gods of Ammonium hear the prayers of the gunites, they who is loaded with the deathly prayers of those who man the airship. The gods then send some of their power to this earthly plane, and the guns are fully loaded.

Title: Re: The Misinformed Game
Post by: Gryphos on December 16, 2013, 09:47:39 am
These are no normal sandstorms, these are physical manifestations of dust's will. The Age of Dust ended when the dust storms all concentrated into only a few smaller storms. However, in doing so they gained sentience of their own, all connected with one another via a kind of neural link called the 'Grit Synapse'. They do not need wind to fly, for they are the wind, the hand of dust.

Title: Re: The Misinformed Game
Post by: shadowsteel on December 16, 2013, 12:56:28 pm

How do shot fire?
Title: Re: The Misinformed Game
Post by: Coldcurse on December 20, 2013, 08:01:22 am
they dont use explosive energy to make the bullet get a speed of a lethal projectile. the gunners and engineers blow air into the tubes in blowpipes to create airpressure and use oxygen and deoxide to make the bullet get a speeed to make it a lethal projectile. because we replaced gunpowder with oxygen and deoxide the bullet will get hotter due to the sound of the gun. this makes the bullet spin faster then usual and rotates fast enough to create friction with the air. because this friction with the air is too much for the bullet to sustain its solid form it will slowly turn red and melt. the bullet wil splatter on the enemy ship and create a fire due to its temperature. this process is called "dealing damage".

Nope. Each and every crow was shot down by a giant meteor in one of the greatest conspiracies known to mankind. Crows, the GOIO clan, however, were unharmed. The giant meteors only seemed to target actual crows. In other news, all crows have become extinct, so now I can just go to sleep at night without that stupid one outside my window caaaawing at me.

How did you come to know of this information? These events were meant to remain strictly confidential between myself and the folks at Muse. Muse even employed Zuka'Esrai to wipe the memories of everyone in that lobby. He has a way with making people forget the past nine days that I find rather disturbing exhilarating.

Why does wind always push you away if you try to leave the map?
Weather effects obey complex geometric rules.  Hurricanes and Tornadoes for instance obey the rule of squares, so the eye of the Hurricane will have straight edges and four corners.  It is custom for airship battles to only take place in the middle of these Quadrilateral Hurricanes also known as "Squareicanes."

Title: Re: The Misinformed Game

The spanner is tuned to the the exact harmonic frequency of the nanobot's rebuild engine subroutine. By making percussive impacts at the correct frequency on any block of metal infused with engine repair nanobots we can create a working engine.

Just like you said. Mortar 'shells.'

Permahull is afraid of deep water, as it saw 'Jaws' when it was WWAAAAYYY to young, and shells remind it of the Ocean.
The armor is the only thing keeping it from seeing what the mortars truly are.

Title: Re: The Misinformed Game

Since boarding and the steam workshop were introduced, Muse received so many contributions of only guns to go with the new features and no actual maps or other things that they got lazy and just threw all the new guns in. Now nobody bothers to even stay on their own airship and just fly at someone elses ship, jump aboard and start running around shooting anything that moves.

Who is the Crazy King?
Title: Re: The Misinformed Game
Post by: Cheesy Crackers on January 19, 2014, 08:18:55 am
The Crazy King is called Charles Razy and earned his title after making a match on Labyrinth last over 7 hours by holding the enemy away from the point before they could capture it and ramming his teammate away from the point in order to keep it neutral. One player grew so frustrated that they hacked the game to move the point away from the original location so that the match could finally be ended.

 How deep is "The Pit"?
Title: Re: The Misinformed Game
Post by: Oliver Colt on January 19, 2014, 12:20:58 pm
"The Pit" (do not confuse it with an ordinary pit) is a very deep place. There are records of it going 11 pages deep, with at least 20 deep topics in each. When a scientist was asked how deep would that sum up to be, a whole squad of army men dressed in black broke in and killed him. They had the word D.E.E.P. written on their shirt, which makes us think they are really not that professional but still deadly. For this reason we don't have an exact number of how deep "The Pit" is, and perhaps we'll never know, but it is in fact... deep.

Title: Re: The Misinformed Game

There is a little booth to the starboard side of the ramp behind the pilot. Fun fact: the needle at the bottom of the spire is for docking with a waste treatment facility. The crew's refuse is stored and flushed out far away from the manned part of the ship. Unlike other ships of the fleet the Spire is allowed to patrol over populated areas since they do not generate "clear sky rain."

How does using a fire extinguisher on the Metal Capsule at deck level put out a fire on the top of the balloon?
Title: Re: The Misinformed Game
Post by: Oliver Colt on January 22, 2014, 02:13:01 pm
There's a worm hole that starts in that Metal Capsule and leads to a hidden vent system that ends in the bottom of the balloon. Since the fire ext.'s material gets mixed with worm molecules in the way there, it becomes lighter than the hydrogen in the balloon and goes all the way to the top.

Why is the first/third person view key not mentioned in the manual?
Title: Re: The Misinformed Game
Post by: Coldcurse on January 23, 2014, 04:44:15 am
Because you don't have third person view in reallife. This has a link towards you not being informed to this in the manual because there is no manual of your reallife.
Then 3rd person looked a bit silly as you can see your own back. muse tried to implement that you can see your front but then this will trigger the selfinflicting damage on you ship that you will get during sanbox games. as my conclusion comes that you're face is too beautifull ti be seen by yourself and the game reacts to it by destroying your own ship.

Why isn't the balloon filled with helium?
Title: Re: The Misinformed Game
Post by: Cheesy Crackers on January 23, 2014, 08:26:11 am
Helium was only used in the old days by those poor land lubber people who couldn't afford REAL floaty air stuff. Balloons are filled with dust now because it's attracted to other dust particles by means of magnetism caused by The Age of Dust. If this doesn't make any sense to you then I will explain it with a picture.
(.)~~~~~~~~~~~~.:.:::
^Balloon ^Magnetism ^Other Dust

That wooshy air noise the balloon makes when you inflate/deflate it isn't air it's actually dust being poured in and out of the compartment

How do we inflate/deflate the balloon? When there don't seem to be any triggers near the helm for it.
Title: Re: The Misinformed Game
Post by: Coldcurse on January 23, 2014, 09:08:58 am
If you know that there are eagles flying on the map, we use those.
Pilots can use a jedi mindcontrol trick to order those eagles to puncture holes in the balloon to deflate, and blow into those holes to make the balloon inflate. They also spit on the hole to patch it up afterwards.

Why can't you walk ontop of the balloon?
Title: Re: The Misinformed Game
Post by: HamsterIV on January 23, 2014, 12:53:19 pm
In the early versions of the game players could walk on top of the balloon. There was even a spring physics system similar to the bounce houses people rent for children's birthday parties. Unfortunately players were having too much fun just jumping around on the balloon that no one was shooting at each other. Bubbles said this was not the direction he wanted to take the game and axed the feature.

What is the sail on the bottom of the galleon for?
Title: Re: The Misinformed Game
Post by: Coldcurse on January 24, 2014, 02:44:12 am
The sail under the galleon was to perform special action in case of being boarded. When the galleon is being boarded by the enemy, the pilot would simply cut on of the ropes so the lower sails catch wind and couse the galleon to do a barrel roll. in this action the boarding enemy would fall off and fall to their death as the crew and pilot are secure with a lifeline onto the ship.

Why is Zill so OP?
Title: Re: The Misinformed Game
Post by: HamsterIV on January 24, 2014, 06:06:07 pm
Zill is not a game mechanic, and thus can not be OP. One can not simply choose to go Zill to win every match. Trust me I have tried. Zill is a combination of knowledge, timing, social contacts, and pure aggression that turn his ship into an unstoppable killing machine. He plays the game at a level we mere humans can not comprehend. He intuitively knows where you spawn and what path through the level you will take.  He will strike when you least expect and can escape any ambush. He doesn't run from a fight so much as refuse to engage on your terms. When he does engage he will do so with a tactical advantage that guarantees his victory (even if you don't see it). He knows the counter to every build and ship pairing. If you see Zill's ship outside of your weapon range he is trying to lure you into a trap. If you see Zill's ship inside your weapon range you are already dead. We tell ourselves that Zill is OP because it helps us sleep at night. It helps us live with our flaws as men and leaders of men.

Who made the snowman in Fjords?
Title: Re: The Misinformed Game
Post by: James T. Kirk on January 25, 2014, 12:24:11 pm
Nobody built the snowman and Fjords, it is a sentient being that was born in the smokestack of a Mobula.

It's said that a pilot attempted to 'do a barrel roll' in that area and Mr. Snowy just tumbled out.

The rest of the crew died horrible tragic deaths.

Muse stole the guns to fight druglords in africa. Even as we speak, Keyvias is leading a fleet of pyramidions towards battle to take control over the resource point in Kapetown. Since Muse loses alot of ship in battle they wont have enough money to buy new guns, as an solution they stole them. When they have enough they will sell the Guns of Icarus Online to buy better guns.

Why do people use "Why" instead of"Y"?

Title: Re: The Misinformed Game

Because "Why" includes the "Y" but "Y" doesn't include "Why"... There was a big fight for the rights of the "W" and the "H", just like the one there's now for the rights of the "R", so the letters' rights international court demanded that people used "Why" instead of "Y".

Coldcurses are very emotioned by puppies that make his emotions either implode or explode. He is also very sensitive when it comes to ponies, as he loves them, but he's afraid he cannot love them enough, so he denies any pony love for the sake of their health.

The mobula piloted by Jawjee also known as the "That's it, we're dead", is a very interesting ship that looks just like a normal mobula, but has some secret weaponry. The weapons it has are known as "Give 'em hell", as they truly give everything enough fire to make it feel like it's hell.

Because until I perfect my RSR (reality-simulation-reconfiguation) code to hack the universe - we can't live inside GoI
(Apart from me. Everybody knows that I am not real, but an Ultra AI NPC that was set free into the game to test the mechanics of the co-op in Adventure Mode.)

What is the world out there really like? As an NPC I have never seen it.

The definition of Occult is anything pertaining to: "mystical, supernatural, magical powers, practices, or phenomena."
In other words, ANYTHING supernatural including theistic religion.

So the better question is - what's with all the occult stuff surrounding Easter?

What is the square root of spire?
Title: Re: The Misinformed Game
Post by: HamsterIV on April 24, 2014, 02:41:01 pm
sqrt(spire)
sqrt(s*pi*r*e)
Given that 2*pi*radius == circumference of circle or c
Assuming s = 2
sqrt(c*e);
Given that e=mc^2 -> e/m = c^2 -> c= sqrt(e/m)
sqrt( sqrt(e/m)*e) )
Convert notation:
(e^.5*e^1*m^(-.5))^.5
Distribute power
e^.25 * e^.5 * m^-.25
Combine like terms
e^.75 * m^-.25
(e^3/m)^(.25)
cuberoot(e*e*e*1/m)

sqrt(spire) = cuberoot(e*e*e*1/m)
