A new update has just been pushed to the server! Server data was reset, so you’ll need to reenter your character and ship customization, but we made a bunch of bugfixes and balance tweaks.
Full summary of changes after the jump!
Here’s everything that’s new with this patch:
- Client CPU speed increased by 70%, increasing FPS across the board.
- Fixed LoDs for engines and guns, reducing slowdowns caused by lots of ships on screen
- Fixed invisible crew and ship parts after enemy ship destruction
- Fixed floating name tags when players joined mid-match, and after ship destruction
- Lobby chat now supports scroll
- Scoreboard and Map are now click and hold to keep open, and do not block input
- Scoreboard now updates immediately, and displays class indicators for human players
- Hit indicators now resize based on damage done per component. Allied crewmen’s indicators are transparent with an outline
- Audio hiccups from disk IO and CPU use reduced. Audio CPU and memory use reduced
- Fixed several underlying network synchronization issues (addresses out-of-sync health, repair clock, fire display, spawn issues)
- Server-side performance improvements should greatly reduce incidences of “slow time”
- AI is less effective at sniping very distant targets
- Hit indicator events accumulated per target object (part of client indicator scaling)
- Rebalanced speed of ships (except the Squid)
