Indeed, as Carn said, there are six factions, and they are making it into our upcoming co-op mode as well.  You can learn more about the factions starting here.

The community is already off and running with faction-related events such as Aerodrome.

Co-op mode will be released before adventure mode.  We have not committed to a date, so that we may deliver our highest quality upon release.  Typically our dev fireside chats on Fridays include a progress report on co-op, if you'd like to see where we're at on it.

By the way if it's coming out on PS4, I'll just buy the original + adventure mode on PS4 instead.  I don't mind having 2 copies of the original game, I just prefer console a lot more.

Yup, me and a few others got to play a few rounds to demonstrate the PS4 preview at one of the conventions (in LA) which was fun!

The good thing is it'll increase the community size, and money to feed Muse and their families.
The downside, those without mics on console will struggle with communication.
