I vote, buff time reduced by 20% effect time increased by 100%.  Hopefully awkm sees this.  He'll never admit it but sometimes he draws inspiration from the forums.

Hopefully we get dev clarification but I'm almost positive spill over damage goes to armor. It makes sense if you think about it since in essence it's the same component and hull health can't be damaged while armor is up. The hull damage from carronade goldfish was due to the massive armor damage by a carronade prior to the last hot fix causing some shots to break the balloon, spill over, break the armor, spill over, and do damage to the hull.

I recall that this was answered by a dev on the old forums.  Any damage done to a broken component spills over to the hull/armor using the appropriate hull/armor multiplyers.

You know, this is a really good point.  I've never thought to say anything but I too often try to squeeze in a message before I respawn.  It'd be nice if I didn't have to worry about it getting erased.

I know this is going to come off the wrong way, but the counter to flame throwers is experience. When facing an opponent wielding fire, every crew member needs to act in their role to mitigate it's effect. Engineers should have chem spray, this is an amazing counter since they can inoculate the hull, the balloon and any gun they're firing so they never catch on flames. The gunner should equip heatsink the moment it appears flames are inevitable and the captain, as Zill stated should be keeping his ship out of flamethrower range. If all these things are being done, your opponent has just wasted a light weapon slot, and you now have a huge advantage against them.

I may be going out on a limb here, but I'm pretty sure the Lumberjack is intentionally difficult to shoot. It's one of the most powerful weapons in the game so it has been made difficult to land all the shots for balance purposes. I recommend to anyone to take the time to master it though, it's worth it.

I thought I'd chime in here, since to be honest, this has actually always bothered me a bit as well. As a fairly experienced pilot I learned the hard way that you can't make it around that particular debris; the problem is that unfortunately it looks as if you can. I can't tell you how many times I tried to go around it to get an advantageous position on my enemy only to be inexorably slammed into the wall. Now in the scope of things this is admittedly a very minor issue in an otherwise brilliant map; but in a perfect world I'd love to either be able to go around the object in the first place or have a physical barrier that visually shows the pilot the impossibility of the maneuvers so it's never attempted at all.
