Does anyone else play Haven and Hearth, or want to play? I've been playing for about a week now and I could use some neighbors.

A colloquial term for the sound made when a forgetful engineer leaves a spanner inside an engine block upon rebuild and tries to kickstart it. This has lead to 'Crunc' becoming a slang term for an engineer who doesn't follow standard procedure, often cutting corners.

Hychgloph.
Hychgloph-
A small Anglean hamlet situated on the border between Anglean Firnfield and Fjordland Glowwater. Hychgloph is rife with conflict and piracy, its denizens making their living collecting the debris falling from the sky daily in violent, bloody skirmishes. Hychglophans are a stout bunch, living in hollowed out hills and other underground dwellings all connected with a labyrinthine series of tunnels. These tunnels are necessary to prevent village casualties caused by the constant rain of sharp metal and stray bullets, but the tunnels have also been the unwitting demise of many a curious child who has gotten lost below.

The Pit / Leap of Logic Game
« on: October 03, 2014, 08:05:03 am »
Instead of explaining what the leap of logic game is, I'll just give you the format and an example then we can get started. Just come up with a 'truthism' in this format:
X does Y.
Y does Z.
A does Z.
Therefore A is X.

Example:
God is love.
Love is blind.
Stevie Wonder is blind.
Therefore Stevie Wonder is God.

Hitler did bad things.
Bad things make people cry.
Onions make you cry.
Therefore Hitler was an onion.

America is patriotic.
Patriots wear flags on their shoulders.
The American flag has alternating stripes.
Zebras have alternating stripes.
Therefore America is a zebra.

Not only have the summer crowd gone back to school, but there seems to have been an odd rash of computer mess-ups amongst the people I usually play with as well as a myriad of Youtubers, (Star, Minicorn, etc.). That's why I'm gone currently, can't play GoIO on my crap laptop.

Feedback and Suggestions / Re: Hull and armor system overhaul

More combat situations and tactics. We may even learn the word "tactical retreat". Currently we can't do that because there's not much space between "we're fine" and "o'shi..." And harpoons may become very useful to prevent it.
Don't presume to speak for all of us. I have successfully escaped from many bad engagements, and have seen others do it too. A lot of close games are decided by a loosing captain knowing when and how to cut his losses and retreat. I will agree that there is not much time between when an engagement goes bad and the time a captain must act to effect a proper escape. You don't see many escapes among newer players because they don't know what a bad situation looks like until it is too late to do anything about it.
I can vouch for this. As a mid/long range pilot half of my time at the helm is spent driving in reverse at a funky angle to keep my port side guns on target while I back the f*** away because my short range escort got chewed up.

From this post, I just discovered something that is utter bliss to listen to.

I'm just going to say, that if you have a vendetta on ponies, you're gonna miss out on some true music here.
I always hesitate to mention Yourenigma in non-pony circles because of the stigma against fan content from any fandom really, but he's definitely worth listening to no matter your feelings about the show.

And referring back to my post, listening to good music is definitely an almost religious experience for me.

Don't forget the new 'butterfingers' debuff for engineers which gives them a 10% chance to reset their reload cycle if they try and use special ammunition. I'm not really sure how I feel about that. In fact, I'm developing a mod called Project G to try and return Guns of Icarus back to the way it was before Muse ruined the game for competitive.

Honestly, passive buffs that are straight performance upgrades would be helpful for gunner usability, such as an ammo bag that increases the clip size of the gun you're on but forces you to carry one less ammo type, or WD-40 that lets you turn the gun faster while you're on it but with the same 'one less ammo type' consequence. That way the gunner can shoot longer and track faster but still keep an ammo type. The popular consensus is that you only need one ammo type anyways.
