Feedback and Suggestions / Re: Borderless Windowed mode, where is it?
« on: June 13, 2013, 03:19:16 pm »
Making assumptions about what users know about a game/engine and its capabilities is not good. Users sharing information to work around the lack of a direct implementation of a feature is perfectly fine and people should do so for as long as that feature (I.e border less windowed mode) isn't put as an actual option in the game.

But if Muse decides they feel border less windowed mode is something desired by plenty of people then the response won't be or shouldn't be "type this command here in steam." It will be them implementing an actual option into the game. You shouldn't assume people know how to figure out things even as simple as typing a short command into steam.

Whales, I think of whales.
Why does this not surprise me?

And while on the subject, Amazon won't stop recommending whale cookie cutters to me because of you.

That moment when your ship is singing along with "make a man out of you" while in battle.

I remember this idea being brought up before while it was disabled. I agree as long as we've got a way to see which lobby is which that this would be a good feature.

Feedback and Suggestions / Re: Matchmaking ideas

I'd say Moos idea is definitely the easiest approach. If you go a bit too far down the path of dividing matches in the community for a player base this small, it will just get harder and harder to start games.

Well my responses in that felt pretty grim..

Uh, that wasn't supposed to be a joke with my name but we'll go with it.

Your name would be perfect if you suffered from winter depressions, no offense ofcourse.
Lol, none taken. Although the name is actually the combination of two names for characters from two different stories from mine. Happened to find out they sound pretty cool together.

Rule AQ. New captains Bump into stuff by accident. Veteran Captains tactically bump into stuff.
And the clever ones convince their grew they "meant to do that."

"Sky Whale Tamer"

But in seriousness, I like Zeb's list for the most part. A lot of the names do feel pretty lackluster.

Feedback and Suggestions / Re: Minimap
« on: May 29, 2013, 01:12:17 pm »
It may sound odd but I prefer just having the one big map. There isn't a ton going on with the UI during matches and it looks very clean that way. Also I feel not having a mini map to glance at encourages everyone to keep their eyes looking around the ship and communicating whats going on around you. It just feels more immersive that way.

General Discussion / Re: Pilots?
« on: May 29, 2013, 01:07:53 pm »
Man, every once in a while a new player will come onto my ship, never playing with me before, and we'll win a couple of pub games.  After a few wins they'll type in crew chat "you know, you're a good pilot"

Reminds me why I love to pilot, makes it all worth it.
I try to make sure my pilot knows they are doing a great job when they are. A good pilot makes the game enjoyable for everyone on the ship!

I've played the role a few times, the first because we just needed someone in the slot. After that I just thought it was a useful skill to have so I force myself into it every now and then. When I first started playing a lot of people were telling me engineering is a stressful role but honestly I find being a captain to be far more stressful and difficult without question. The only time an engineer's job is really stressful to me is when the captain is making it stressful (i.e yelling at you to fix something when you're already on it and just getting antsy about you not being able to keep everything up 100% of the time).

Going a bit on the derailed part of this topic I found the Pyramidion easier to fly than the Goldfish but I think thats just because I am so used to being on it. I may need to give the fish a few more tries to see if I can get better with it. Most of my games as captain have been in random public matches with less experienced players just so I can get my feet wet but I should probably take the role with some experienced players that are willing to deal with me so I can learn a bit more.
