John was baron of the Keystone Ridges, he passed the title to his son James, who died young and passed it to his younger half brother, as James has no children, micheal.  However, John had a brother as well, who had a true born son named Alex, whose mother was also Johns  second cousin(their nobles, incest is gonna happen), giving Alex a higher percentage of blood relation to John over Michael

My brain...

I've always had conflicting views of the fjorlanders (?) in my head between a people named with lots of C's and Z's that eat sugar plumbs in pointy castles and one that drinks mead from horned helmets whilst pounding heavy weapons on the floor.

feudal siberian/northern european was it? I need to read that chart again.

Gameplay / Re: Artemis Rocket Launcher

There are ways to get out of a repair cycle versus lumberjack and carronade, and there are ways to get out of an artemis disable cycle. It's just not easy.

Agreed, mostly. The difference is however that while a lumberjack disable cycle is relatively easy to break, the disable from, say, a trifecting junker provides a long, vicious, hwatcha-like cycle with the added bonus of range and ease of use. It's just not fun: I played a fjords match between pairs of meta-junkers, it dragged on for forty painstaking minutes of destruction, turtling, rebuilding, repeat by both sides. I even got zuka to rage. I don't want to see the Artemis nerfed back into obscurity, the meta could use some tilling, but the aaaarrrrrrghhhh factor is simply to high: either lower the turning speed/clip size and make it a disabling merc, or lower the crazy AOE and projectile speed to add some skill in destroying components.

my two cents, pardon the text wall.

It's a wild fancy, but... model airships would be pretty awesome.

Hmn... similarly, if the asps are too primitive/resource poor to construct airships on the same level or amount as, say, the guild, (the vibe I seemed to be getting- correct me) they would need some kind of cost-effective solution to negate the tactical advantage they'd offer- like insurgents utilizing a relatively cheap RPG to suppress a million-dollar tank.

Makes me think of the ewoks busting ATSTs with logs in Return of the Jedi.

Children please...

This thread is about how infantry in the GOI world have developed squad (okay "small group" to avoid confusion with whatever the proper military definition is) based combat tactics utilizing evasion and movement over brute force of numbers- which I think is rather probable considering the inefficient nature of what would equate to WWI trench warfare especially in our near-apocalyptic scenario where resources, manpower included, would grow increasingly scarce- I don't think minute squabbles over textbook definitions of squad vs. fireteam, or our service records/ lack thereof are relevant.

A push-cart map, somehow.

VIP escort? A cargo barge or something- one team races it across the map, the other tries to destroy it?
