#AmmotudeAdjustment - HEAVY ammunition proposals
« on: January 20, 2017, 03:40:40 pm »
Thousands of messages have been exchanged between participates in The Council (Skype link). This thread exists to poll players about our tentatively approved proposals for HEAVY ammunition. The most popular proposals are as follows:

Heavy Ammo Proposals

HEAVY AMMO _______________

Notes:
Option 1 removes the clip penalty while decreasing the rate of fire and rotation speed of the gun.
Options 2, 3, and 4 are slight variations in numbers.

This table is designed for you to reply with quote to this thread and select the option with which you most agree by deleting the other proposals. Each proposal is grouped between the [ TR]  and [ /TR ] tags, so remove those lines of code as necessary. Good luck!

Personally, I vote for option 1. I don't think it's too extreme, but it could be, hence the other options.

I'm for option 1 as well. It can be scaled back that 5% if it's too much.

Leave it alone; heavy clip has never been an issue, it is currently a commonly used but not abused ammo... as my boss always says "No problems? Then its not a problem."

Brings back all the fun of the old heavy clip but stops the heavy carronade from taking out balloons at max range with 1 clip.

I like this, but many players prefer non-100% jitter reduction for heavy clip. Either way, damage reduction instead of clip will be added to the discussion

On a range, of say 70-100% jitter reduction, what do you guys prefer?

95% would probably have all the same effects without looking laser straight.

-20% ROF means that if 1 in 5 shots of regular miss, heavy clip is better. -15% means 1 in 6.67 shots must miss. At further gat ranges for example, many shots will miss armor and may hit components, balloon, or miss. The risk of -15% ROF is that it may be overpowered as 1 in 6.67 isn't much...

Daft's proposal is similar in that it reduces DPS while shooting by 15%, but also reduces damage per clip. This effects some guns more and others less than the RoF proposal. For example, guns like the Heavy Carro shoot plenty fast and are effected more by the lower damage per clip, while gat is effected more by the RoF change - ex. if RoF is -20% and damage is -15%, you'll usually want to do damage faster and sacrifice lower clip damage

What about doing this:

Damage: 0%

Clip size: -10%

Rate of fire: -15%

Rotation speed: -20%

Jitter: -80%

Still has a slight cut into ammunition, but balances that with greater jitter reduction.

Keep in mind which guns -10% lower clip will effect: banshee, gat, hwatcha, and which it won't: Hcarro, Lcarro, Minotaur. This is a good way to balance heavy clip if the first three become relatively overpowered

Jitter reduction wasn't discussed, to my knowledge, prior to posting the thread, and if players prefer -80% to 70, then that's what we'll do

That's kind of why I thought it might help out. 10% isn't much to something with few shots, but to something like the Hwacha, it's a sensible bite. Reducing jitter a little bit more might make it a bit more useful, despite the number of negatives.
