The Great Northern War. Sweden, led by King Karl XII
Related.

For me it has to be WWI, as cliche as it may be.  A specific battle, however, has to be the Battle of Vimy Ridge.  I'm Canadian and pretty patriotic, and the battle itself is an excellent example of ingenious tactics and rigorous training.  For those of you unaware of it, have this wiki link.

The Battle of the Somme.

A few Mann fought in the battle. A few years ago, I went the the fields where the battle was fought. Such a beautiful place once covered in blood and bomb shells.

Those Mann live on in name on the Thiepval War Memorial.

Why am I sad now :C

Because war is sad, and WWI was stupidly sad.

Is food a happier topic to make questions about? Or music?

That would depend on the music questioned about, some is very sad, and if we currently have the food questioned about or not. Either way, they most likely are happier topics.

Where else would my interest in history come from?

Crap, Sabaton are seriously making a lot of people get into history! I learned more about the 30 Years War hearing the album Carolus Rex than in an entire school year!
(Not counting the fact that my history teacher was a fukken commie so we entirely jumped over the 17th and 18th century just to talk about the Italian Porto-socialists and bloody Marx)

Ok, now that I see that many here know Sabaton, here's the question:
What is the most interesting historical fact you "learned" by listening Sabaton?

In terms of sheer "holy shit" factor it has to be the Chasseurs Ardennais.  Specifically, from Resist and Bite, where 40 men held off a fighting force that included Erwin Rommel's 7th Panzer Division (AKA the Ghost Division).  Either that, or Smoking Snakes.

In terms of "hey that's cool" it has to be Carolus Rex or Night Witches (Which also has to be one of my favourite songs ever)

I'm going to repeat the previous question.

Anything on their new Last Stand album. Most of those stories have the "holy shit" factor in the stories. I agree with Resist and Bite, that is definitely up there. 40:1 is an interesting story as well, as is No Bullets Fly.
And how could I forget Inmate 4859, a story about Witold Pilecki a man who literally forged papers to get himself sent to Auschwitz.

I'll give an option of questions, in case whoever is next doesn't love Sabaton as much as I do.
1. Repeat previous question.
What is the most interesting historical fact you "learned" by listening Sabaton?
2. What is the best genre of music?

We humans wear our ties on the base bottom of our necks, so I would say a giraffe would do the same.

Why would a Giraffe want to wear a tie around his neck?

Well, of course to be well dressed enough for its job interview!
They may be animals, but class does matter.

What kind of decoration would have said tie?

I bet is a job interview, as the economical crisis is being a problem even for the animals.

The question is: for what kind of job is our giraffe applying?

Considering his lack of thumbs, I doubt it.

Who else has a image of Anglea that amounts to a Adeptus Mechanics and Space Wolves mashup, with a hint of steampunk?

Not me, Anglea seems to use and abuse and cannibalize as much tech as they can, though I suppose you can draw parallels with the STCs and the tech buried in the ice.

If Anglea is Space Wolves, does that mean Yesha are the Ultramarines, or the Imperial Fists? :v
