OMG that is awesome

I have been wanting to see a pilot holding a jug of moonshine in the victory screen for a while now...maybe even devouring it...

also, why the hell did you post in general discussion and not suggestions.  I SUGGEST WE BRING THIS BACK!  if nothing else, at *least* for the victory screens

I always love the implications of piloting tools.

Alright explode some kerosene in the engines to go a bit faster thought slightly damage them. Alright.
Alright explode some moonshine to blast forward at great  damage to our engines. Little extreme but whatever.
Alright hold this glorified chicken foot and believe you can turn sharper, also your engines now hurt, even the main engine. ...Uuuuuuh

Yeah, it would seem more realistic to damage armor because of the insane shear stress from having a ship turn so fast.

I always thought of pilots tools as modifications to the ship itself. The Claw is particular gearing system that links your engines for more wibbly woobly whatever.

No, I'm rationalising my opinion that phoenix claw is op and should be nerfed by having it damage armor. instead of engines. It would still be more thematically consitent though, because it's so different from all the other items (magic), it could have a different damage effect though.

I agree with that. I was more responding to Richard.

Actually, that's brilliant. That'd be a great way to nerf the claw. Don't have increased engine damage, have hull damage. I like this a lot
