I mean, if you're putting it on a weekday, you're almost certainly going to exclude someone. Heck, even weekends are barely manageable for time zones.

We're playing with the idea of pushing the tournament a day forward to August 3rd (Saturday) at 10:30am eastern time. This seems to be a safe time with enough buffer before the Cogs.

Totally should have read this sooner, cos it would have saved us the brainstorm, haha. Great minds etc.

That would be much better, for me anyway. Might be a tad early for our west coast friends (7:30 am), but not that bad.

Sadly, its going to be hard to get everyone crammed into the tournament. When we're trying to include the entire globe, some places will have rough times. I just hope that 7:30 is manageable, because this seems to be the best choice- earliest time is 7:30am, and the latest time seems to be about 11pm.

Here's the problem with 10:30 am Saturday, it's only 5 and a half hours until Cogs. That sounds fine for Americans, just a really big gaming session, but look at this from someone in the Pacific. That means they'll have to play your event late night, then get up a few hours later for an extremely early Cogs. Why can't we just cancel cogs for the day like they did with the Captain's Tournament?

Update: We have contacted Swallow about the Cogs, and he is going to cancel it for the day. On August 3rd (Saturday) at 10:30am eastern time, the tournament will take place, and there will be no Cogs match afterward.

I'm not nuts about a Spire tourney personally. Weapon loadout mixes seem a bit confusing and a headache to maintain. But I've also got Ops with guild during  that time slot so I won't even be able to.

We want each loadout to be sent in beforehand, so for those that are confused, we can check to see if a loadout is acceptable and give feedback. We can also try to reword the Medium and Light weapon rules if someone is having trouble understanding them.

Sounds like a lot of fun, just one thing I've noticed.
1st place one features 7 games in total, will you find an eighth or how does it work out for that poor soul?

Good spot Matt, we're actually still looking for an eigth prize, although we have a couple candidates. In terms of a 'poor soul' Im more concerned for the person who gets secret of the magic crystal!

So now its no Cogs that day and 7:30am for me here. Hmmm...dunno if I'd want to wake up that early cause I'll be up till past midnight the night before with Ops and anime. If Brick is game I'm sure he could find an alternate up for flying a Spire. I'll pass it along. I know we got one member who is/maybe was a Spire nut.

I have quite a few games that I could gift away, just log onto skype and we can talk about it.
Also, remember that you can't gift away beta-invites to DotA2 anymore, as it has been launched recently.

UPDATE:

Many thanks to Mattisamo, who has donated (very kindly) our eighth prize: Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War!

I don't know about you folks, but I freaking loved this game. Cheers again Matt!
