as the dark lord kyren gave its knowledge to the people of the goio community, he decieved them.
10 days ago in the deepest dungeon of the forums called the pit, the dark lord kyren forged the ultimate book of knowledge to rule everyone.
his knowledge rises above everybody else in the lands of steampunk, with his power he starts to enslave everyone and slowly taking over the peacefull forums of GoIo.
the elfish lord N-sunderland didnt trust the dark lord kyren and created an aliance with the dwarf king captain phoenix.
pulling their armies together of steampunk flyingmachines they started a war to slay the dark lord kyren and end his tyranny.
the dark lord kyren was unbeatable with the knowledge he had, many lives were waisted that day.
but there was one mistake that the dark lord kyren made, one of his crew was a infiltrator.
not knowing that there was an elf on his ship the dark lord kyren opend his book and started to spread his word of wisdom.
until yiski, son of the elfish leader N-sunderland, ripped a page out of the book of the dark lord kyren.
the book being incomplete the spirit of the dark lord kyren collapsed and left his body, not returning until the book was complete again.
the page remained with yiski who went to the edge of the airship and hold his hand out to drop the page of knowledge.
yiski's eyes were looking at the page as he knew.
this is all that yiski ever wished for, to gain power over the forums and rule.
he kept the page in his hand and walked to the helm as he pushed off the spiritless body of dark lord kyren and took control of his ship, he flew away and never was spotted again.
no one knew where yiski was or where he went, and the torn page of knowledge was never seen again.
people claimed he died of age or crashed against a structure.
years have passed and the book of knowledge had been forgotten until something unexpected happend.
a little man with the heart of gold went on a trip in the mountains on his own, his name was qwerty.
while walking miles from civilization he stumbled and fell of a ridge.
he wiped the dust of his shoulders and stood up, seeing an old sairship that has been damged by time.
qwerty was always been curious and started to investigate and climbed his way onto the ship, after finding some corpses qwerty found a torn page in the dead hands of the corps of yiski sitting in a corner of the captains cabin.
he heard old stories about the book of knowledge but neve imagend that it was true.
qwerty looked at the corpses but saw that the corpse of dark lord kyren was missing.
qwerty grabbed the torn page out of yiski's hands as the head of yiski's corpse fell of, being scared by the scene qwerty ran away in fear.
when qwerty came home he wanted to tell his story, he went to his best friend swallow who was sleeping next door.
when swallow opend the door, qwerty quickly went inside.
swallow was surprised that qwerty just walked in without saying hello.
qwerty asked swallow to sit and talk, swallow nodded and closed the door before taking a seat.
swallow knew that it was important and listend carefully to qwerty who told his story.
after the story qwerty placed the torn page of knowledge on the table, swallow's eyes opened wide as he looked at the torn page.
swallow and qwerty both looked at eachother and nodded, knowing they should inform the council of muse about this.
as they both packed their coats and hats, they headed out and walked the long road to the council of muse.
not knowing that this was the start of an adventure.

END OF CHAPTER ONE.
(i have too much free time i guess)

Very well, I'm back and I still mean to get this going. Flying more like.

I've just checked the ingame manual, and we'll be able to take some stuff from there as well, but most of the things we are going to need are flying around the forum or the wikis anyways.

What I'll do now is ask for a subforum for this undertaking, because I'd like to split the work up in several topics. (Source sighting, formatting, etc.) That way progress can be made on several branches as one, and in the end we just have to patch it together, like a Junker.

I'll keep checking and listing possible sources and adding to the contents, so there'll be something to talk about once the subforum is (hopefully) up!

Wouldn't this be the ideal use for a wiki?

Aye, this has been pointed out before, and I also intend to post the Guide or parts of the Guides on the Wikis. (As well as we're going to include things from the Wikis here). But for translating, a single document is much easier (at least for me personally), and for actualizing as well, I think. You go to the forums or any community Website and Group, and there you've got the whole Manual/Guide as a PDF/HTML/Forum post with a mention of it's last update and probably in your respective language. I find it's much easier to handle a single file than 54 different Wikipedia articles.

The main aim is to provide a quotable and usable framework (well, and information within), that could then be re-posted on the Wikis, Ingame, Newsletters, etc. It's like a Wiki put together is a Manual, a Manual in parts is a Wiki.

Even if you intend it to be a single document, wouldn't a wiki page be a better way to put it together, rather than forum posts, as it could be edited easily by anyone. That's what I meant.

Ah, yes. Yeah, we'll obviously have to post it as that too :) Also saves us from finding any other CMS to keep it updated.

Uh... I didn't mean the finished thing as a wiki page, I meant while you are creating the thing, wiki that anyone can edit is easier than trying to coordinate such things via forum posts... But nevermind :-X

I'd love to help in any way that I can. I just wrote a little thing on the Captain position, and would be willing to write about anything else that is needed. If you organize all of the current information into one place, like a google doc, then we can find out what else is needed and go from there.
