Click here for any information you need
The SCS Alliance starts one hour later than the usual SCS time.
The three teams round robin rules have been updated (only one match in each round of the group stage).

In addition to the standard rules, the following rules will apply:
  • At least one ship from each team must be an Alliance Mode ship.
  • The use of Alliance Mode guns and practice mode features is not allowed.

The stream, brackets and respective map rolls can be found on challonge. Expect a big surprise cast!
The participating teams are The Skyborne, Maenad Ryders and Museosaurs.

Not that I want to necessarily enter, but noone else is allowed to join the alliance game?  Seems odd for "community" event.

We wanted to make the event a surprise and so there wasn't any public sign-ups for it, in exchange, teams that recently played SCS were contacted and asked if they were interested in playing and if they can indeed produce a full 8 member team that owns Alliance Mode.
That is the reason why the event was a special invitational event taking place in addition to the "normal" event in Skrimish Mode that is open for sign-ups.

With that said, any team that can indeed produce a full 8 members team for the event is welcome to notify us and we will see what can be done about it.

Im honestly not trying to flame here, but SURPRISE!  You dont get to play cuz you werent notified ahead of time and only the *cool* people get to do it.

I seriously think the entire tournament/competitive scene needs to make better strides to actually include more of the actual community.  The elitism is off the charts.

It's almost as if the last 100 SCSs were only for the "cool" people.

This is a singular event, whilst your remarks seem generalised. Care to expand in order to assist with your narrative?
When was the last time an exclusive event was organised? Is there a lack of access to the community for competitive events? (The answer is no: look at the rules of participation, sign ups advertised with hyperlink in the launcher).

So the issue at hand should only be this event. Sure.

Speaking only for myself, I'd love to see more teams in SCS and all the other tournaments. I do everything I can to encourage new teams. The bottom line is that it's open registration and anyone who wants to join can join, and LT&CO showed this week that you don't have to have been here since SCS1 to take the title. This was an invitational tournament that went on alongside the regular one, and even in this case people were able to sign up if they wanted.

In other words, if you have anyone that wants to join SCS, have them sign up and take their shot. No one is going to stand in their way.
