What do you listen to?
« on: June 06, 2015, 09:09:51 am »
Some people listen to the Default game music. Others, do not.

What do you listen to while playing GoI?

For example, I am a huge fan of progressive instrumental Rock such as Dream Theater, Liquid Tension Experiment (A band comprised of Dream Theater instrumentalists) or Hacken (a tribute to Dream Theater...) *Seeing a lot of reference to Dream Theater* :P

I normally listen to this sort of music when I am an Engineer or Gunner however;

When I am a Pilot, I listen to Orchestral music (I am a pianist so the genre makes sense for when you fly into battle)
Certain orchestral songs include Flight of the Valkyries and William Tell Overture "Finale".

Apart from All this music, I also listen to requests crew have when onboard.

Ressarious made a good chunk of the music for Guns of Icarus but he also has quite a lot of pieces for other things and ones he just made for personal projects. His work is amazing and I'm sure you'll find some other pieces of his that you'll enjoy. The SoundCloud pieces are his most recent work for a personal album he'll be coming out with soon.

I have a very large set of music that I will shuffle through, ranging from Orchestra to Eminem to the Rolling Stones to Chinese cultural music to game soundtracks from my entire steam library to Electronica to acid rock. The full playlist (which I haven't made) would be somewhere in hundreds of tracks.

If I listen to anything while playing GoIO, it's either one of two albums by Obscure Sphinx, or good ol' "Ride of Valkyries".

I listen to all kinds of things!

Like Butter Building...

FTL OST...

SNES chiptunes...

N64 OST...

Though I don't consider myself a hipster, I don't listen to very much mainstream music culture.

I've never really tried it, and I'm perfectly happy with VG music.
