I met a level 32 engineer who didn't know to hit pyra engine from below... He was not a bad engineer but nearly all.his experience was Goldfish and on any other ship he got lost.. When I flew with him second round on a fish, he was incredible.
So, that moment you see a specialist perform their speciality.

Oh I've had some fun along these lines. We had a level 45 gunner join our ship who insisted that he didn't 'need' heavy clip for the carro back when the meta blenderfish used it to snipe out balloons at range. They were insulted that I felt they 'needed' it, because you know, super MLG leet 720 no scope skills mean you can defy entropy and the random number generator. Of course they couldn't hit anything with it, kept trying to shoot out engines for no adequately explained reason and then were shocked when the enemy fish (which I think was a Ryder ship pilotted by Lue here) kicked the ever loving crap out of us. You'll never guess whose fault he thought it wasn't.

There are a certain amount of members in the community who are, absolute arseholes.. Fortunately they're limited in numbers, but when you meet them, they're a plague to be around, worse than backseat drivers.

On the subject of backseat drivers...

That moment the gunner who was shouting at you for not listening to his backseat driving, where he screamed and cried that you were not putting his guns in arc (because you were avoiding enemy arcs) joins the enemy team as a pilot, and you have a mine launcher able crew member on your ship.

I like pretending I don't know how to hit the pyra engine from the bottom. It's a lot of fun to see people's reactions

That moment when....
Your ally swears at your captain and ship after a 4-5 loss, and they died 5 times and your ship had 4 kills...

Salty fools who bitch swear and insult other players make the community look bad.

That moment when...

You win 3-0 against Gilder and some other 45-captain as a pilot with ally of lvl 24, only to screw it up with you own retardedness (to 4-5)

Depends on the placement and what fish it is, its a legit choice for lumberfish and carronade fish on left side. :)

Maybe is my lack of experience, but I find leaving a full side useless in combat  (thats 33% of your guns) for a flare gun is totally pointless

I always have a flare on the left side of fish. If you have a choice of which side to use in combat it should always be the right side gun. A flare is an invaluable asset to your team and can be used to put fire stacks on the enemy (15 per shot). Failing the chem cycle on your balloon and getting a 15 stack will make your vertical movement impotent. With heavy clip and good aim it can be used to snipe out guns and engines.

In combat using the left side is only for necessity because the right side is more efficient. Having a flare on your team is a big advantage that lets you see where the enemy is or isn't, and lets you effectively snipe ships behind clouds.

Thanks for the info. I've read about the fire capacity of the flare gun but didn't seen enyone actually using it.

Yesterday on a spire with ZanC (lumberjack love!) flare for support, meta junker got up close to us...

That moment you snipe the meta-Junkers Gatling with flare and refuse them a kill. <3

Watch some competitive streams and watch Blenderfish.

Another good point to note: The right side gun on a fish is further forward than the left side, and a Carronade-flamer/banshee can effectively shoot both guns at the same time.
