What is canon now?
« on: April 02, 2013, 11:33:50 pm »
Seeing that there is an entire section devoted to establishing and discussing the fiction of the GoI world, I was wonderingif there was a site or if someone knew everything that has already been established as canon for this world.
And on a side note what are people's names like? I'm assuming similar if not parallel to the names of the 18th-19th Century.

You can check the main site. You'll find some content about the world and its story there. You can also play the original GoI for some context.

Whatever your AI crew is named is what the names are gunna be for people

Some of those names are really weird...

Thanks for the tips, gentlemen!

I didn't even think about the AI names but now that you mention it they do seem to be biblical for the most part.

The lore is -Muse- Clara Skyborn's job, it's her baby (as Keyvias once said to me), we don't act as if we create canon, but we hope we don't interfere with it. I'm getting ready for the day where she's like: you guy's got x,y, AND z wrong... and culls hours of RP time lol.

On the AI names: there's a secret to where they come from. There are a few people here who ought to recognize them. Anyone? :)

You can also see a few more contemporary in-world names mentioned in the old issues of the Broadside Anchor.

If nothing else, this is an interesting collection of names...I should use it to name AI crew members or something.

Ahhh Jess! I can't believe you actually saved those names, and that I just realised it  :D

And now I feel left out.

I seem to remember something about this but I have no idea what.

(Or I'm totally wrong and the names are from somewhere else. But all the one's I checked matched)

Made funnier by the fact that I played with an AI named Jesus. So, you banned Jesus.

Sir Issac Phillips is still canon in my mind.
