There is a sure fire way to get the exact game you want to play. It is called "make it yourself." If you don't have the time or money to do such a thing you will have to make do with what other people create.

The only semi-modern game like this. Of course there are also many more being made right now that have cooperative ship gameplay.

Also, people who complain about bad graphics are more likely to have no imagination or creativity ::)

*Hip intensifies*

But yeah that game looks cool too, alto it's not really my type of game. I like seeing things explode in front of my face, be it in millions of pieces like GoIO or millions of squares like Minecraft :P Also shooting and hitting :)

In games, of course xD I'm a peaceful person IRL sorta :D

Oh you can see the explosions in artemis if you want, but mostly you're busy looking at the actual instruments instead of out the window :P

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72XhdVqDT1g old cheesy video of artemis gameplay. Lots of newer better videos (the game has way improved since then) but this one has costumes, music, and gets right into the action :)

For a single player experience there is a ton of U boat games out there.  But ship to ship combat GOI does seem to be pretty unique.

You can have two player-controlled ships duking it out in artemis.

You are looking for  Sea Dogs (2000), Age of Sail 2 (2001), Sea Dogs 2/Pirates Of The Caribbean (2003), Age of Pirates: Caribbean Tales (2006) and Age of Pirates 2: City of Abandoned Ships (2009).

Sadly there's no multiplayer there. That'd be awesome.
