New Ammo

New ammo type that reduces the arming time on guns! Unlike lochnagar this ammo would not increase the damage of your gun or cause damage to it. Instead it would just reduce the arming time on your gun.

What down side should this ammo have on your gun and how much arming time should it cut off? Is this even a good ammo to bring into the game seeing how arming time is a way to balance guns? Your thoughts below.

So you mean greased, heatsink, incend through lower projectile speeds? Pick your poison.

All those ammo types are designed with other things in mind. This would be a ammo type designed to reduce arming time.

There was an ammo type on the dev app called armed clip that removes the arming time on a gun, not sure if they've decided to implement it in the actual client ever though. It works rather well, like loch it damages the gun pretty heavily.

Perhaps, but any new ammo coming out will effectively do the exact same thing, and would surely give similar debuffs to where you have a bit of ammo overlap. Only four guns have arming, and it's for balance, so making ammo that negates that any more then what we currently have would probably just break it.

Yeah gotta agree with Zill here. Arming time is designed to keep things (i.e. Lumberjack, Flaks and Hades) from being too powerful at close range. The rounds that reduce arming time have trade offs, and rounds that just reduce it would unbalance other rounds.

That was the final discussion on the dev app if i remember correctly.

I would like to see another type of ammo that takes away arming time but will still need a great drawback.

Lochnagar is not an ammo type you use on a light flak, or hadez. If anything those crazy ammo types we saw WERE an experiment. And mostly they worked on damaging the gun as it is fired. Ide say expect new debuffs and buffs one day to ammo types that are existing today.

Yeah that's the problem with lochnagar. It can't be effectively used to reduce arming time in light guns, cuz the only light guns with a truly small clip are the mine launcher, flare gun and field gun. All of these don't benefit hugely from reduced arming times, and the other arming time guns are large clip and destroyed with loch.
