My favorite personally in without a doubt Adrasteia's engineer costume. I'll see if I can get here to upload it! Otherwise I'm quite proud of my elite engineer costume that I shall upload in a couple of hours!

I agree with what is being said by Sammy for sure. However, if the spawn choice is going to be implemented for sure, I think it definitely ought to have a way so that you can't spawn directly on enemy ships and have to instead take a spawn x distance away from an enemy. This can still give brawlers a balanced chance to get in close and make it tougher to snipe, but not make it downright impossible.

That moment when your Junker gets pounded to death by Jacob's Squid.

On the topic of best moments - sitting on a Duck Junker during a scrim to kill it...in a squid. Why oh why did you let me fly, Kirk?

I do believe that I was on that Junker! Interesting match that was.

That moment when you are pre-loading your gun, and you prebuff it while it loads, and you miss the reload ending for the right ammo.

Feedback and Suggestions / Re: The Barracuda Sky Torpedo

Haven't seen this mentioned yet, but could the torpedoes be shot down and dodged? I know you mentioned dodging, but what if they could be shot down as well? They could behave kind of like the target practice ships in Sandbox except just delivering a payload. Launch your torpedo, hope it hits, and if not it could draw enemy fire or distract the captain for the split second you may need. Or perhaps a Hwacha barrage followed by a torpedo for pure destruction because no one can shoot it down?!

Feedback and Suggestions / Re: Fog Goggles! Get them Now!
« on: December 07, 2013, 04:51:36 pm »
In theory it would only work on the cloud you're in. Normally you can't see anything while inside a cloud, although as you near the edge, enemies can actually see you through it. Then if they pop a flare into it, you still can't see through the cloud (although you can see inside of it); again making it easier to attack from the outside of the cloud.

The goggles would address that by making it easier to attack from within the cloud. Letting you see through it, so you can attack outward. If you're outside the cloud and put the goggles on, you'd just see cloud, as it only helps you look through the cloud you're currently in. You still have to worry about drifting too far towards the edge of the cloud, and flares of course.

Essentially it makes improves the stealth gameplay, making it easier to sneak up on enemies instead of flying blind and hoping they're at the other end. And it'd still be easily countered by the flare gun, or even just hiding in a different cloud.

That's interesting in this case! If it is possible to have it like you said that has a cool possibility. However I still worry that every ship will be bringing some goggles and it would just be a way so that everyone can find a way to see outside of the clouds.

It's an interesting idea, but I think it would just negate the whole need for clouds. Competitive ships could always just have one person bring a pair of goggles to either increase or counter a stealth aspect. Sacrificing a Spyglass on board is really not a huge deal. But the implementation of fog goggles would definitely negate the entire effect that clouds have.

One thing I haven't seen in here mentioned is with all ladders, they can be climbed onto from the side. As I am a top deck engineer on a Junker, I'm constantly running up ladders, and as long as you come in at a slight angle you can climb ladders really easily. The same can be done with a Pyramidion top deck or on a Mobula. Not so much Galleons or Spires though. But it saves a lot of time instead of waiting to face the ladder then climbing!

The Lounge / Anyone going for a Guns of Icarus themed halloween costume?
« on: September 26, 2013, 06:35:37 pm »
I'm thinking I might try to make a costume based on the game, or replicate one already made in game. Anyone else going for this? Post ideas!

The Lounge / Re: What did you name YOURSELF and why?

Well, when I first created my account I saw that the game wanted me to give myself a role-play-ey name, and I figured all other players did this. So I go for something that sounds kinda cool and ended up with a very steampunk sounding name! I mean, Firehammer. Dame.

Of course it's me that messes up the engine buffs, yet I so loyally buff your engines all day. You're so grateful Sammy!

For those of you out there who haven't been to it, the subreddit URL is www.reddit.com/r/gunsoficarus. Get posting!

Gameplay / Re: Banshee
« on: May 11, 2013, 11:06:23 pm »
Today in the Cogs matches, Sammy had a banshee on the front of our junker. It actually seems to be fairly useful there for a few reasons!

A: it can be fired fast between hull cool downs

B: it doesn't need tons of commitment, like a Gatling

C: it annoys the piss out of engineers with the fire.

General Discussion / Re: I played with X
« on: April 21, 2013, 11:40:37 am »
I played with two Newcomers earlier this week and thought they'd be worth mentioning. Simply named "Nick.", he played a very good pilot on a goldfish and was able to communicate well and maneuver even better. After ten minutes of training he was calling targets and guns.

Razu was another. He was playing a very well done engineer, and was great on a gun. He was able to listen well and communicate back. Take either of them on your crews!
