The Pit / Battlecries!
« on: February 02, 2017, 04:42:14 pm »
The idea is to think of an battlecry for something in GOI.  It could be a personal one, one for your clan, a certain build, a gun, equipment, whatever.

Battlecry of the noob: Ready up!

Now that that's out of the way, have at it!

The Pit / Pet Names for the Guns
« on: January 28, 2016, 10:23:06 pm »
So I'm starting this so the Quotes thread doesn't get too derailed.

Here I wish to discuss names for our favorite guns.

Pheobe the Photos and Hailey the Hades are my favorite.

The Lounge / Why do we blame Shink?
« on: October 02, 2015, 12:40:42 pm »
By now, blaming Shink for all our problems has become a staple of GOIO, even for those who never flew with him. In this thread, I request that any who have knowledge of the reasons put them down. For prosperity.

General Discussion / Seeing Dev App thread

I'm not in the Dev App. I have never been in it. Yet I can see the Dev App threads, and always have. Shouldn't this not happen?

The Pit / Lore Booze
« on: July 31, 2015, 10:35:46 am »
OK, so we all know about Hellfire. Then there's also wild winds ale, clear skies, and the sake bomb. This thread is to brainstorm booze ideas for cantina stuff. Please include a description and origin.

Raider's Rum- A potent drink of varying recipes. The story goes that one day several Angleans were drinking rum acquired on a raid in Chaldon. The cask was wide open but secured. Hitting some turbulence various "ingredients" fell into the cask. Not the type to waste booze under any circumstance, the ship's gunner filled his cup and took an instant liking to it. Ever since, crews have been tweaking and developing their own recipes. Various ingredients used having included dragon peppers, nightshade, charged rounds, kerosene, and honey.

World / Airships or Airboats?
« on: July 16, 2015, 07:07:23 pm »
Ok, anyone who knows basic nautical terminology, knows the difference between a ship and a boat. However, i recognize that most people here probably do not know the difference. Basically, a ship can carry a boat, but a boat cannot carry a ship, the main thing is size. Is the vessel large enough to carry a lifeboat? If so, its a ship, if not, then its a boat. I arue that what we fly on, are airboats, not airships, as these vessels do not appear to be large enough to carry another, smaller, vessel, and still retain their function. Thoughts on this?

The Cantina / The Gears of The Blasted Galleon
« on: June 08, 2015, 09:47:14 am »
So this is a more serious RP thread then the Tavern run by Koali, but not quite as much as Burning Skies. Ground rules are that it is strictly canon, and I do consider Burning Skies and Skies have no limit, as canon. If someone wishes to post something that would initiate a quest, I ask you pm me and make sure it is Ok, I don't want to clutter up the cantina with a new quest thread every other week. For now, unless more people get involved, I'm not going to implement the night-lock Yiski did in Burning Skies. I will instead post a end of day, then new day, when I post in the morning. I also ask that people post in the third person, keep out of character posts in parentheses (like this), and if they control more then one character, they put parentheses specifying which one it is, before the dialogue.

The setting is a group of mercenaries, who for comical reasons have decided to turn the front room of their HQ, into a bar. Enjoy, hope this goes well!

Alister Carn, Commander of The Gears Mercenary Company, grunts as he hangs up the sign above his door. It reads, The Blasted Galleon, and it hangs next to another sign saying, The Gears Mercenary Company. "Blasted grease monkey, I'm never letting him order the booze again." Walking inside, he continues to mutter curses under his breathe. Most of which are directed at the rookie who ordered the company, far to much booze, requiring that they turn the front room into a bar. Alister Carn isn't much of a people person. He's a mercenary and before that, he was a sergeant in an Anglean Marauder unit. Still, you've got to make a profit to survive in this world. Looking at the city through the window he mutters "Particularly here in Cathedral." Flipping the sign hanging on the door to open, he goes behind the bar to await the customers. Whether or not they want booze, or to hire The Gears for a job.

Gameplay / Map achievements
« on: May 24, 2015, 10:53:46 am »
Okay so everyone who plays this game for a week knows the layout of dunes right? I think it would be interesting if, when you get the map achievement for a specific map, you could play that map in practice mode. There are a few advantages 1) In maps like Paritan, it could give newer or less skilled pilots a place to practice, without the worry of some vet coming around a corner and tearing them apart. 2) Competitive teams who know what map they will be playing on, can practice playing it in advance. They would be able to come up with new tactics for a specific spot, for example. And 3) We'd have a better chance at finding all those easter eggs!
