The Lounge / Re: Introducing the new CAs!

Hey GoIO community!

My name is Adam and I’m from Los Angeles, CA. My in-game name is TheNuffimNom and my steam id is TheNuffimNam (one letter difference). I play almost every night around 9 or 10 PM PST until around 1 or 2 AM. I love to Pilot.

I’ve been playing Guns of Icarus for about 8 months now, and I’ve been in love with the game and its community since day 1. What I’ve been up to lately:
1) Teaching new players both the best, a.k.a. meta, ways to play Guns of Icarus, but also unique and fun ways.
2) Growing a clan of friendly, active and communicative members.
3) Setting up private lobby matches with interesting/unique rules and more carefully balanced teams to ensure everyone has a better time.

Am I missing an Oath?

I'd like to second this suggestion and emphasize that we need an overlay to know who is talking while in-game. Sometimes it's hard to tell which captain is speaking and an overlay which popped up with their name when they speak would help a ton.

True that super long names may get messy. You could use just the first 5 letters and only be able to see your own team's ship names though to de-clutter it a bit. I like the sprites idea too, but we may need to rework some of those...

Feedback and Suggestions / Ship Names On Map

Suggestion: Show friendly Captain's name or ship name over the ship arrow on Map.

Coordinating with other captains, especially in 4 v 4 would be a lot easier if the captain's ship name or something to indicate whose ship it is was shown in the in-game map. That's all there is to it. I see no cons to doing this if it's only for allied ships. Heck, you could even make it optional.
