Feedback and Suggestions / let us use choose different ship parts

   So I just want to throw this idea out there to see what you all think. I want to see more options for ship customization in the game that effects performance. For example let us choose form a list of different type of engines that change the ships states slightly. Like one engine type could have better thrust and is lighter so the ship can accelerate faster but has less health. You could also choose to take less armor to help over all acceleration and maneuverability but obviously you are more vulnerable. This would force you to choose between making your ship a bit faster at responding to a threat or being able to tank it our for longer. I think this would add a lot of fun flexibility to the game and help change up the meta without taking away from the game. Let me know your thoughts, and share any ideas on other ways we could tweak our ships!

I don't really like the changes to the compass or ship health. I used the tick marks between compass direction to give my crew a more accurate direction. For example “target at one tick right of north.”
And with the health I found it helpful to tell my captain how many “bars” of health I had left after a engagement. Over all I feel as though the UI changes are unneeded, and are only there to say “Hay guys look something new and shiny!”

i really like the idea of capture the flag. i see some of you say that it would mostly be a squid dominated game type, but i don't think so. To keep that kind of game balanced i think it should use a similar system to the new co op mode that Muse is working on. In the new co op mode that they showed at Pax the players had to capture a balloon being towed by AI ships, and the bigger AI ships could tow the balloon faster then the smaller ones. On top of that i THINK that the ship with the balloon was slowed down, but i'm not completely sure on that. SO basically the smaller ships cant tow the flag as fast as the bigger ones. that would mean that the squid could get to the flag fastest but would be the slowest to return it, and the gallon would be the least affected.
