Just wanted to throw up a fix to the fix.
Due to some of the confusion between the first match set up and the  fixed one a compromise has been made.
First matches will not be any different as there is only a swap in sides.

Awesome, thanks for all the hard work, Linen.

I have to get in touch with you over Steam or Skype to talk about expanding the tipping for Season 2, if you're interested. Username "D_K_Head" on steam or skype, alright?

I have not really noticed it in cogs yet, but Fjord and dunes sometimes have SUPER terrible and one sided start of game spawns giving one team a HUGE advantage.  Is there and safeguard for this in cogs? Can teams call for a restart in those extreme cases?  A restart would be as simple as everyone hitting surrender and starting again.

Personally if I'm spend days practicing for a match only to be screwed over by spawning across the map from my teammate (at the start of the game) and no one willing to restart I will be pissed.  immediately fallowing if someone uses the phrase "Luck of the draw" I would stab them in the face.

Even if the bad start spawn is in my favor I would want to have a fare fight.

I am talking about rare and very extreme cases of bad start of game spawns.

These spawns haven't been so rare lately, honestly I've been expecting to see them in the cogs sooner than later.

We've already tried the "Ready, Start" method to control matchups, and that failed gloriously... Restarts would just end in the same way... And in the event that we introduced them to poor spawning on Fjords, they'd just be called for more and more often. Eventually, whenever something isn't quite to a team's liking, they'd have the chance to call a restart and drag out the matches... And I don't want to go down the "Write a rule for everything." path that leads to damaging the actual gameplay in favour of maintaining poorly thought-out countermeasures to stuff the devs have implemented..

Restarts didn't work in Thunderdunes, and they had a very, very good reason to do them. Restarts for bad spawns aren't viable either. You're just going to have to adapt to whatever happens. Versatility in the face of adversity.

i do not remember  a cogs match, where bad spawns at the beginning caused unhonest frag, so it doesnot seem to be a problem.

Yes it hasn't happened YET.
It's a potential situation that cogs isn't prepared or willing to be prepared for I see.  I think it would avoid potential very unhappy teams if there was a plan in place.
