New addition to my library.

I noticed the other day that I have a new item in my library, GOI Alliance. I am wondering why this was added and when it was added, I preordered last year. I'm simply curious. Thanks.

Alliance is released on the 31st

It is a PVE game mode.

Essentially you and 3 buddies (up to 16 total) can do set missions. You allign with a faction and blow shit up.

There is an element of the board game "Risk" that gives a bit of grinding and community element to the whole thing.

There were a decent amount of neat features in the Beta and it has been evolving rapidly since then. It should be baller.

Yeah, I have done some testing in the earlier stages with the dev app. Was just wondering why we were given an addition to the Steam library along with it being in my dlc for the main game and it must have been within the last few days because I just noticed it.

I know they are coupling alliance and guns of icarus online into a single packet

The new Guns of Icarus: Online is supposed to become: Guns of Icarus: Alliance

Maybe that's why?

Alliance isn't really an expansion / DLC anymore. It is its own game (which includes the PvP mode) - this is so new players don't have to buy both versions.

Alliance will be branded a separate game to PvP due to its large size I believe.

It is a branded a seperate game so Muse can get bigger and better marketing out of Steam. Guns of Icarus Online itself is very old for an indie game, so branding Alliance as a DLC is not going to get Muse a lot of advertisement out of Steam. That is what they said.

So will this add to our game collector badge exp? Right now the addition to the library is bare bones and brings you to the dlc page as is so I don't know if it will.
