(Carn) "Well now, that's........unpleasant." There are several skeletons in the room, all in labcoats. Some are strewn at the door, while one is laying over the worktable.

(Ingur) "From the notes, it did seem likely not everyone made it out. There is some equipment i see though. If Koali doesn't mind some more weight, we should be able to set up shop as soon as Shaded can get the supplies."

(Carn) "Alright, fan out. Look for useful or valuable items, but try and be respectful." notices a small journal clutched in the grip of the scientist on the desk. Taking it he see's it is the same writing as in the notebook with the formula. "Ahh, this explains why my great grandfather was able to make Bloodsong. It seems a small portion of hemovibrium was transported to another installation in what is now Anglea. It seems likely he never knew the recipe himself, but found some notes on how to shape it, as well as the metal itself. I may as well show you why its call hemovibrium, if we are going to make more."

Unhooking Bloodsong from his belt and laying it on the desk, he then unsheathes a small knife, the kind used in hunting. Cutting his palm so that a few drops land on the axe he motions for the others to watch. At first the blood is still, the it begins shaking, though there are no tremors. Along with that, there is a low humming sound in the air, different then the tone when the metal is struck, and when it is spun through the air.

"Hemovibrium, Bloodsong, it reacts to blood in a way that agitates the blood. A cut from this metal leaves an odd and unpleasant feeling. The blood remains agitated for awhile, causing tremors to go through the body. Effectively throwing there fighting capabilities off. Prolonged contact with enough blood creates an eerie harmony," allowing more blood the drip onto the axe, strengthening the noise "the vibrating blood, the song of blood and metal. That is why it is named thus." wipe blood off the axe and hooks it back on his belt, then bandages his hand back up.

(Ingur) "Do you have to act macho all the time? Give it here, I'm better at this then you." grabs his hand and bandages much better than Carn.

"At least he didn't pee on it, that would have been unsuitable for everyday reading."

*Opens a large chest.*

"Huh. I guess they left a bunch of Songsteel unused. Look at all this!"

*The chest is full of Songteel scraps and ingots.*

"Oh, it's SO TEMPTING! I just wanna build a skywhale call right now! But if I do, I might make the whole cave system collapse. Speaking of which..."

*Goes to the center of the room and puts up a brace.*

Boi-Crunch!

*Looks down and sees a skeleton whose skull was, until recently, not crushed by a spring loaded pillar.*

"Yeugh, sorry about that."

(Carn) groans "Koali please, anyways this is a difficult metal to work. I'd rather we make armor and weapons first. Imagine bullets made of this stuff, they'd be armor piercing rounds, Put bullets made from this into a gat, and a galleon will lose its armor in no time.  Just store it for now Koali, I know how to work the metal, those notes were in the family. may as well just take the chest too."

(Ingur) goes over to a cabinet and opens it "Well aren't you beautiful." grinning she removes an officer's sabre made of hemovibrium "Perfectly balanced and razor sharp, I think I'll keep it. There's also some hammers and a few tongs back here, along with an anvil. Koali if you can carry these aswell, things will go a lot faster."

(Carn) looking at Koali "Im going to ask you to not try and make something right away. This is a difficult alloy, its not like iron or brass. It requires extreme heat, and a lot of brute strength to bend, let alone be made into something of use."

*Walks over to the smithing equipment and picks up a small pair of shears and a pair of pliers, and works for a moment before turning to Carn and holding out a tiny ship resembling the one below.*

"You were saying?"

*Stores the smithing equipment.*

(Carn) "Koali please, I'm asking nicely. Putting pieces of scrap together is one thing, but making armor and weapons out of this stuff is another. Have you ever forged a blade? I worked as a smith before i joined the military. You cool the metal to quickly it becomes brittle, liable to break. You cool it to slowly, and it becomes to soft, as well as acquiring impurities. From the little bit I've read of making this metal, its a delicate process. It'll require exact measurements and exact timing. Then turning that into a tool of war will require more skill."

(mind not breaking the lore I'm trying to set here? I'm not saying Carn won't show you how to make it, but breaking it right off the start is kinda rude)

Ah, yes, my apologies. Can I still keep the boat?

"I'd never trust myself to properly work with a new material without training... But when Songsteel is in thin sheets it apparently behaves similarly to normal steel. I bet Nestor might enjoy this, too."

Whenever I overstep my bounds (as I undoubtedly will do so in the future) I'll need to make sure to get you to get me back in line. My chaos and inconsistency need to be kept in check, or else things will get too... Well, chaotic and inconsistent.

(Fair enough, i don't mind a bit of chaos, but i like some consistency in plot and lore.)

(Carn) "At least you have that sense, as with any metal, the thinner it gets the easier it is to bend. Give me some time to work this and I'll show you how. Though I doubt you have the strength for ships armor. This stuff isn't as heavy as steel, but it requires a lot of muscle to bend when it is thick. As Ingur said, in a test Bloodsong took a .50 caliber armor piercing sniper round at 100 meters. It didn't leave a scratch. If it was heated properly, then it would have undoubtedly warped the metal. Anyways, thank you for carrying this stuff. If you don't mind I believe there's enough space behind the tavern for me to build a forge and smelter."

(Inugr) finding a schematic she calls over to Shaded "You asked about schematics right? Well this one is for a complex and accurate watch. Supposed to keep track of the date as well as the time. Useful in many ways, particularly to a trader with a busy schedule."

*Pulls out the wooden hammer.*

(Carn) grabs the mallet "Not nearly enough weight, or length. Those hammers that you stored should be able to though. Unfortunately, they were only of the size to make personal armaments. I'll need to either make or buy the hammers needed to make ship armor. I should be able to forger one, but for an anvil that size I don't know."

(Ingur) "The hammer head alone, would need to be at least 20 pounds. An anvil big enough for that...... I don't want to think how heavy that would be."

"I have a way to make the hammer adequate..."

"The only issue is stamping massives stars into anything I hit."

Note that I didn't actually swing it, it would cause a collapse and kill us all.

(Carn) sighing "That hammer is a tad to large, I dont even want to think what it would take to make an anvil to match. Also those stars would become a weakness in the armor. If you want that for your squid then that is your call, but I'll need to make some hammers for the rest. I could probably use 2 others to hammer, and at least 1 to keep it in place." turning to Shaded "You know any men who can follow orders, hit with precision, and are strong enough for the job? Preferably of average intelligence."

*Shaded comes out of the back carrying a sack full of books, parts, and blue rolled up plans.*

"Yes, actually, I do.  And thank you Ingur, this will be quite useful.  I found quite a few weapon blueprints, too.  What looks to be... a heavy mine launcher, heavy gatling, and a heavy mercury called... the Jupiter."

*Drops sack.*

"I can provide hammers too.  The Tartarus wasn't exactly easy to make, you know.  Do you know how much pressure the metal's under?"

"That was fixed eventually.  Hoses were a mite small.  And no, this is fine.  More blueprints than anything.  I will need help building all this, though.  Anyone in?"
