Pilot tool: Oil
« on: April 05, 2015, 03:44:10 pm »
This would be to Tar Barrel what Kerosene is to Moonshine.

The concept is pretty simple. The pilot injects oil into the engines, creating smoky exhaust. Make the clouds gray instead of black.

Rather than a puff of smoke that does severe damage at a click, this would be more of a leave on and run tool. It would do a moderate amount of engine damage, a light amount of enemy damage, and would lose spots. While on, it would make a smaller stream of clouds instead of one large. This would give the game back the light escape clouds lost with the Tar change.

Now we need the Moonshine equivalent of Phoenix claw.

AKA everything my life has led up to.

Moments like this I then ask...why not just fix Tar?

I like the idea tho. But if we're going to be shooting oil now then how bout give it a blinder effect to enemy/allied crews. Not all at once. Say your screen gets black splotches across it that eventually cover the screen if you sit in it. It can of course be removed. Say automatically your toon will reach up after a few seconds and wipe it off. Hand or forearm motion. Of course if you sit in it, it will just splatter back over again.

Could always color it brown. Rename the tool from Oil Spray to Latrine Dump :D.

Actually if Muse did that, they'd become legend in gaming. Specially if they made it chunky ;D

Who would fill that latrine dump? I wonder.

Yeah adding lore stuff that implies people eat and shit in this adds in a precedent of unreality that just barely supports the suspension of disbelief.

If it goes further you get questions like why do fires, shells and bullets not injure the crew in anyway?

How does hitting something magically work towards fixing it?

How do guns reload themselves?

Who the hell is that AI guy n the gimp suit? *insert AI clan joke here.

Depends on where Muse goes with the lore. Would crews have an actual latrine or would they just let it rip over the side? It would be more economical to actually let it rip as you wouldn't have to dedicate space aboard ships towards latrine facilities. However being at altitude and with wind, you'd have to have designated literal poopdecks. Otherwise you'd be splattering your own ship and crew with excrement.

What you could have is a little portable toilet type device with a bag inside. When you finish your dump you then toss the bag over the side. Which means there would be pranksters who would take latrine bags and bomb cities or other airships with. Perhaps even use the bags as lumberjack ammo.

Lot of interesting and hilarious questions arise. Maybe I'll wake up for Fireside this week and give Muse some tough questions :D
