Mostly I'd say it depends on what the subplot entails. Are we going to get followed? Pissed off former employers coming after us? Someone infiltrating the crew to get at you? In most cases slow and steady, a few inner monologue bits about what the hell is going on. Your character's opinion on the ship etc.

Also should I post something or does someone else have anything planned?

I suppose I'll write up the other half of the post I originally meant to write, less important stuff than Davis displaying his survivalist tendencies. If it's not up tomorrow feel free to timeskip into Oblivion.

I'm fine with a jump to tomorrow, I've got nothing for this day, unless Ulric wants to continue conversing with Alison.  I do have ideas for the next day though.

Could I create a subplot about Mr. Owl trying to steal the blood?

That depends, do you want Alison to hunt him down? Also not even Alister knows about it, the only ones outside of the Anglean deep science groups who know about it are Alison and Ulric.

I guess I'm asking how do you feel about it? Would you want to have that or leave him as a smuggler that didn't decide to risk jeopardizing his position with the new crew.

Considering that you asked first, I can run with it. You will have to fabricate a reason why he knows about the blood, and that it is worth stealing. I can't promise Alison and Alister won't stir things up if he does though.

Currently he believes he's trying to steal a drug similar to a steroid. Not that steroids have been invented.

So, I admit to having a long unexplained absence (personal life got in the way). I want to apologise for that. Considering that the last post in here and the cantina thread was months ago, I take it the story is cancelled?
