I've found that repairs/rebuilds are, while essential, the least entertaining.

I enjoy piloting, but I never want to miss a chance of giving a good Hwacha barrage.

Engi-ing can get pretty intense, and you get a kind of fierce pride in knowing that you kept the ship from falling apart.

Gunning is one big ball of explosions and Canadian hitmarkers.  That feel when you nail an HF shot doe...

Personally, Piloting is the most fun, for me anyway.  You have a sense of freedom when piloting, and it almost feels like YOU'RE the one who nailed the Hwacha barrage, and you get a sense of pride in EVERYONE, whereas individuals take pride in their own work.  Basically, what is a Captain without a crew?!

Because of the nature of the game I find it depends who I'm with, I'll happily engineer and gun with pick up groups, but in general find being a captain with a pick up group very stressful if you have just one person unwilling to make any effort, for example a guy wanted to gun and he argued with the other guy who wanted to gun, in the end the other guy agreed to me making him ballon mortar engineer, kudo's to the guy who didn't gun he tried damn hard considering what happened, and the lvl 1engineer who took the mantle of main done an awesome job and listened to tips and tricks I gave him.
The 'gunner' though, I gave him a heavy, greased heatsink loadout... He camped on the mortar and shot one shot each engagement... While armour was up. He was not afk, his shot towards the enemy each engagement showed that... No language barrier, he made himself very well understood with his whole argument of being a gunner only, on his want to be a specialist gunner on all weapons and he accepted loadout and confirmed his gun was Gatling front right, in this situation where I had to rely on ballon engineer to Gatling and me to shoot banshee on for our only one kill while this guy just trolled... I finished the match apologising to the two engineers, the problem is not the loss itself but the lack of enjoyment for anyone on the ship..

Yet with a crew of all new players who have no idea what to do are more fun as they make the effort, aboard a ship with a language barrier and being the only English speaker was more fun as I had to base engineering on what the other engineer was doing

I get absolutely no satisfaction from being stuck on repairs, yes you do a great job keeping the ship alive, but its not fun.
Pilots who doesnt let their engineers shoot guns I refuse to engineer for, i'd rather go do womething else then.

Engineer - run round in circles in the same pattern doing the same thing over and over again

= boring

Pilot - watch your engineers run round in circles ~ but they're doing it wrong & watch your gunners miss their shots while the enemy kills you

= frustrating

Gunner
- blow shit up & never run round in circles & its never your fault if it goes wrong & be a 'backseat-captain' pissing off constructively criticizing the 'actual captain'

= best class

I like piloting or gunning. Those are fun.

Engineering is bleck. People yell at you all the time.

Engineering, hands down. Not only is it the most hectic, but it benefits from a good degree of situational awareness. You have to adapt what you are doing on the fly based on your teammates, your allies, your opponents, and what everyone is actually doing.

I love being Pilot, Captain and Admiral all at the same time. It's a lot of responsibility but when it works you really feel like you won the match. Others I know don't like all the responsibility and would rather blow stuff up and keep us alive. That's why this is such a great game. It is fun for lots of different people you just need to find "your class".

Geo speaks the truth. Although gunners can be to blame as well if they miss important shots.

It makes me happy to be a good engineer. It's the class I've started out with, and it's the class I've put the most effort into, and I enjoy it. Engineers are always needed, and when your ship stay together all though your hard work, it makes for a good time

Piloting is clearly the most fun, so long as moonshine isn't used, with gunning coming at a close second in my book

I personally like being a pilot and its where my pride lies. Not only as a person that knows how to position and evade. But to also be tactical and commanding.

And when I'm not being a pilot I'm just judging my captain's piloting.

on the other 2 classes I'm above average and I pretty much just run on automatic.

Plus that feeling when a noob crewmate backseat pilots me (like complaints for no arc when I'm fully focused on avoiding a freaking Hwacha to the face), quits and I turn the match around playing with my clan.

That internal laughter, of a noobs attempt to be spiteful by leaving the match thinking it was a loss for me.

I just can't get that feeling as a gunner or engie.

Usually I'm the engie yelling at everyone. Since most caps I've played with don't really know how to think 5 steps ahead which is required of a good pilot. And other crew mates don't show the initiative.

The amount of times I yell at a pilot to use the AI commands to fully utilise that AI crew member. Its like they don't know where the function keys are.
