TimmyB Tournament Week 6 information

(1/7) > >>

Caylin:
so for week 6 it's just a standard deathmatch with point and ship restrictions...

it's time to go shopping!

so, first thing you need to know is that on week 6, you will not gain points the same way as you have been doing before. In week 6 everyone places a certain number of points into a pool, which is split between the players. the more they place, the more options they unlock for ships and weapons (based off percentage).

at the end of the match once a winner has been declared, the points that were pooled prior are then distributed based on the number of kills per ship to the winning team. this will be calculated proportionately, so that each kill is worth approximately 14% of the total pool, rounded up.

the minimum placement is 20% of everyone's points for the pool, rounded up. after the winning points have been calculated, a few special bonus points for the entire tournament will be given out for certain, stand-out items :P

ship unlocks:
20% - Spire
30% - Squid
40% - Galleon
50% - Mobula
60% - Goldfish
70% - Junker
80% - Pyramidion

heavy weapon unlocks:
20% - heavy carronade
40% - heavy flak
60% - jumberjack
70% - hwacha

light weapon unlocks:
20% - flak, banshee, mercury field gun
30% - flamer
40% - gatling gun, artemis
50% - mine launcher, flare gun
60% - gatling gun
70% - carronade
80% - hades
90% - mortar
100% - harpoon gun

after the matchings are posted, each team will be required to submit the amount of points they are placing into their pools in this thread or to myself via PM on steam([G] Caylin) or skype(kungfuninjacow), if you do not do this before your match has begun, it will be assumed that you've place 100% of your points into the pool, so make sure you tell us if you don't want go "all in".

P.S. on friday I may be un-available to answer PMs for most of the day (it's my daughter's birthday, she's 10, very happy :D), so just leave them as a message and I'll get them, otherwise goodluck and have fun!!!

Sammy B. T.:
So if you lose on Saturday or don't score a kill, all points you bet are lost?

Byron Cavendish:
Correct. So you can play it safe and bet only a little, and conserve points for the final tally, or go balls deep and hope for an epic victory and maybe a 1st place steal.

Squidslinger Gilder:
Could you give an example of how it works?

Guessing a few things right now. So for the match as a whole. Each ship puts in 20%...with 3 ships that = 60%. Meaning everything up to the 60% tier can be unlocked. Now say we all went in 33%, then we'd have 99% and could utilize any of the ships and guns.

Or is it like this:

So if I look at it now...say I wanted a squid with gat/mort/mine. It wouldn't be possible since...

Squid = 30%
Gat = 40%
Mort = 90%
Mine = 50%

So literally what I'd have to do is go...

Squid = 30%
Gat = 40%
Flak/Shee = 20%

Be using about 90% total with 10% to spare. Or go the flamer and use all 100%?

Now say for a Galleon we'd have...

Galleon = 40%
Heavy Carro = 20%
Gat/Art = 40%

Total 100%

So Galleons can only use Carro or Flak. Galleon + Jack would be 100%, meaning no room for light weapons and since you have no choice with this, it can't be done.

Interesting system. Think I would have set the flare as a 0% just to make it a little more flexible. Or am I looking at this all wrong?

VVhite Angel:
Humm i think this is another system.
If i correctly understand, if you have 60pts, you want put 30pts in the pool (=50%) you unlock all ships, guns, from 0% to 50%.

And means you cant use Goldfish, Junker and Pyra.
And can't use lumberjack, hwacha, gatling, carronade, etc ... all above the 50% unlocks.

Going all in, means able to use whatever you want, without restriction.
