Mid-week Madness Tournament (Phase 1)
« on: May 25, 2014, 03:18:38 pm »
Hey, welcome to the Phase 1 discussion of what I hope will be a fun weekly occurrence! This phase includes measuring interest, putting acrossed the base ideas and a general discussion of the foundations of which will be built on.

After having a really fun 4v4 today, I wished that they would pop up more often, since Wednesday is typically a "Whole TAW get together" where we stream.. I thought "why not invite the public to get a 4v4 filled really quickly!"

So here is my plan!
  • 4v4 match
  • Streamed
  • Every week there will be a randomly selected "Bonus Rule" to stop the tournament going stale, these rules will be decided in phase 2, alongside finding streamers.
  • Match will be an open lobby, but captains will have to apply beforehand
  • Lobby will be set to shuffle between the 2 or 3 matches played per evening
  • Teams of 4 will be aloud to apply and enter the lobby pre-creation to ensure friends can play together

That's pretty much what I would like from the event and if anyone else has suggestions or criticisms feel free to leave them. A logo would be nice too so begin gathering ideas, I will take submissions in phase 2, voting for logos will take place in phase 3!

Thanks for reading and see you in the skies!
Hunter.

Best of Luck... should be pretty easy to fill spots at the moment, and hopefully it stays that way... but one of the reasons I cancelled Tuesday Night Fights was the lack of people to fill the lobby, and that was only 2v2 :(

That's why I'm trying to spread awareness so soon, and involve community members in it's creation!

Good sutff, if you guys allow noobs to play in this event, then i can try to bring my team(1 ship). We are new in this game, but well organized game against expirienced palyers always better than random public onces.
P.S. I play against TAW guys in quake wars :P

Awesome! Most of our high ranking members started off in Quake Wars! We will probably start the event in 2-3 weeks if you're interested.

I'm going to leave the post until tomorrow, if there is no more feedback I will move onto phase 2, which will be requesting resources and deciding the pool of "bonus rules"

That is a very European time, but then again, this game has become very European. I just don't think you will get many Americans with that (if my calculations are correct that is 2pm for east coast.

This game has not that much american left.

Muse definitely should open a european department. I suggest somewhere in poland or germany

Also, signing up as spare crewmember

Hmmm, well this is TAW's EU group so it's aimed at EU. I will have a word with the NA leader and see if he can follow this formula to make his own version, it will probably be a Thursday for theirs!

Count me in, I'd prefer a London base but Cologne in Germany is a nice place too!

London is not Europe , sweetie. Why would european office be located in small island out of CET timezone?
