Red Button Consequences

Indream's face accidentally rips a hole in the fabric on the universe, thus causing the planet to implode. Luckily everyone respawns on their airship in space, thus making Guns of Icarus: Space Blimps to be created.
At this time, Jacob is on mars at this time trying to make Curiosity into a Zeppelin. Suddenly, he detects their is something wrong with his game. He pulls out his GoIPhone 7 and checks Blimpbook, where it seems EA has bought Muse and has made a crappy sequel that makes no sense even by Muse standards. It also bills you 1 cent every time your balloon component pumps SpaceAirshipsAir™ into your EA-prepared-Space-Digital-Balloon™. Seeing this, Jacob quickly locates a gas station and asks for directions to the nearest red button. After finally digging through Mount Marsmore, he pulls up a Red button, and pushes it, to revert time before Indream ripped time and space apart, the jerk.
Koali:
The repeated world resets have counter-intuitively caused the world to lose stability, creating a dark, toxic version of itself in a parallel dimension (think Light Aether and Dark Aether from Metroid Prime 2: Echoes). Multiple red buttons have appeared, both dark and light. They remain unpressed.
Mr. Goggles:
Because of Koali's cold, hard nerves of steel and determination not to press the red buttons, the following happens.
Time, space and existence itself begins to phase out and travel in all sorts of directions at all sorts of speed. Everything travels away from everything, simultaneously. Light is dark, dark is light, late is early, early is late, and only one single thing remains stationary. It is the original button. The button that started it all. But does it have the same consequences? What sense is driving us to be so sure that it is the original button? no one knows. The only clue we have is the small label, "Original button." Whatever it means, this is definitely the original button. Could it be the one thing to set the universe back in its place? Surely it must be. This button is here and remains for a reason. Press it, darn it, press it!
Koali:
*Presses it*
Mod Josie:
From out of the ever-expanding mess of whipping winds and increasing entropy, Koali soars toward the Original Button. He knows it is close, he can feel it. He reaches out to touch the big button but feels nothing solid. The Button is a cloud of smoke and Koali has disturbed it. It distorts and dissipates away into the whirling storm of expanding space.
Shrouded by the now drifting cloud, a small box reveals itself. The pink puffball reaches out to grab the box and opens it to see what is inside this strangely decorated storage device. Inside, there is a small fragment of a Red Button, probably about a fifth of a whole one. Pushing this alone probably would be ineffective; the rest of the button must be found.
Through the mist and storm, a sound can be heard, or more an absence of sound - a quiet approaches. The dust settles, falling from a new 'above' towards a new 'down' as stability struggles to take hold and the 'world' vies to make sense of itself. Jacob was no fool; he had programmed a system into the core code of the Universe to prevent prime focal points of the story being utterly destroyed. As the main (so far only) planet to be explicitly involved in the plot, the hunk of rock that once harboured all life as we know it could not be easily scoured from existence.
Koali finds himself next to Indreams and Shadak as the clouds clear. They are standing on a small outcropping that has miraculously weathered the storm. Below them, a long drop presents itself and a great dusty plane littered with wreckage and the confused cries of survivors. The world needs to be rebuilt.
The Button needs to be found.
