A big hello and bigger thank you!
« on: March 15, 2013, 10:45:16 pm »
Greetings all, and welcome to my second forum posting.

I am Meriwether (Merry for short), an English gentleman in my mid 30's.  I have a lengthy gaming pedigree, from my first days tapping away at the family zx81 to today's Planetside 2.  I have a history of becoming entwined in competitive gaming, particularly in the Tribes series of jetpacking madness.

I would like to say that I am enjoying this game and it's community very much.  Communities can make or break games, and I'm thrilled to be a part of what has so far been an overwhelmingly positive experience.

I would like to give a shout out to the following people, with whom I've had the tremendous pleasure of flying with, in no particular order (and with advance apologies for mis-spelled names):

Yiski
Captain Smollett (quack-quack)
RearAdmiralZill
HubertPIckle
Helmic
Metal Man
Squash
HamsterIV

There are more I am certain, so thanks to you too if you've flown with me - I have yet to encounter a single member of crew that put me off this game in any way.  I only recently discovered the "add friend" feature, I look forward to expanding my list of friends and hope you'll return the compliment.

See you out there in the skies!

Welcome, Meriwether! You got pretty lucky to play with those guys, they're some of the best and most welcoming players out there. This game really has an awesome community, and it's great that you're feeling the effects of that right off the bat. And the longer you stay around here, the more you enjoy it. So let's hope you're here for the long run :)

Welcome to the community Meriwether. As a former tribes player, GOI really satisfied that need to help your fellow man, crush your other fellow man who are wearing different colors. The aim, timing, and patience, you learned in tribes will be a tremendous help in this game. I am glad to have you with us.

See you in the skies.
Salute!

Hello Meriwether;

We've played a couple of times; but I am likely not very memorable.  I did however remember you - you're a kind person and I liked playing with you.

Always feel free to friend me or hit me up for any questions or even just a random chat;

Phoebe  :-*

Welcome aboard.  Now, we have a holy institution here, the Church of the Whale, do you wish to become part of the parish?

Thank you all for your kind messages of support.  The experience continues to get better and better!

Of course I remember!  I trust that Minecraft house is now fully repaired and the occupants are once again happy!

Hi Meriwether! It was great having you on my ship today. Good to have another brit who knows what words like "nicked" and "plonker" mean.

Hope to see you manning my guns again soon.
