I'm usually free around the time Cogs runs on most days. Sunday would be iffy, Monday my time is limited. Other days vary but are usually fine.

If each arc has a different music theme to it then it'll go a long ways to help the immersion. Something that you would think would fit the story. Then you can mix in common themes for incidents/etc.

There is way more then enough music available from that source to have music for each path with maybe a main theme. Cogs times? hmmmm Would after the cogs work for everyone?

With school right on the horizon for me you'd probably have to send me a message and see if I can make it.

Hey guys, little update.

I managed to find an alternative to using the in game characters for the visuals of the VN. Whether we use it is of course up to the group.
The art post on the first page has been updated with some examples.

Apart from that music is going well. We have about 30 tracks so far and I am no-one near done with that website.

Cheers,

Qwerty

If you can use those instead of the GOIO characters, then we can have more flexibility in the story itself. Would not be limited in age as much and we could potentially bring in a little more emotion to each one. The GOIO characters are pretty stone faced afterall.

Took about 30 mins and whipped up a possible Anglean story. Will probably add 2 more later. An Arashi and a crew member story. Crew member already have ideas for but Arashi I'll have to think about.

In an interesting little update I may have found us an artist that is willing to work with us on this project and draw all our characters :D
We've just got to get the style we want settled and send him an example so he can start drawing some exampes for us. Then we need to work out how many positions we want for each character.
To do that we need to develop the plot. To do that we need a skype call.

How would everyone feel for a call at or after Cogs time tommorow?

As there is some confusing about time zones ill just put this here.

Skype call at American 4 pm EST Monday

Is everyone available?

Edit: FUCK IT! Gilder if your available at any time today could you perhaps hop on skype? trying to organise 4 different time zones is insane.

I can be on around that time. If not then, I'd be on closer to 5pm EST.

Okay, for everyone interested in the project or just following along for the hell of it things are going well.

We had our first skype meeting this morning and have all the plots and arcs sorted. We are currently working on compiling music and deciding upon our artistic direction for our artist to take with his images.
Sound is coming along nicely and now that plot sysnopsis's are handled we will be able to cater the soundtrack to each individual arc, thats right, seperate music for each arc.

Currently the VN project is boasting the following;

6 Separate arcs for each faction in the game, all lore correct
Separate soundtracks for each arc
Hand drawn art + Art from Guns of Icarus Online
Multiple endings per arc, with decisions that can mean life and death

Anyway it's coming along super well, almost all our planned is done and we're getting pretty damn close to the development stage of this project. If you want in we still welcome all helping hands :D This is a huge project and we need all the help we can get.

There will be more updates and discussion to come. Look forward to the release of this in a few months (maybe).

Cheers,

Qwerty

Well 5 confirmed for sure. The 6th will go through a rework but the basic design has been hammered out. Will be added soon.

Help is appreciated. Even simple stuff.
