Defeating two galleons

(1/3) > >>

MonsterMutt:
How do you defeat a 3 ship team with two galleons who cover each other's blind sides?

My teammates and I faced off against these two galleons who would stick close to each other but at a distance.  So that whenever we tried focusing fire on the bow or stern of one galleon it was impossible to drop or rise out of range of the other galleon's broadside.  Didn't matter if we tried hovering over them or sneaking under them, we were always in range of the other galleon's broadside.

What's the best approach when confronting two galleons who cover each other? (Assuming you cannot divide and conquer)

RearAdmiralZill:
Hmm I see lots of variables here. Could you give loadouts of the galleons?

MonsterMutt:
I cannot say exactly, but both definitely had manticores.  One had carronade(s) and the other had fieldgun(s) as well.

MonsterMutt:
Correction, I'm not sure if either had carronades.  They both definitely had manticores and at least one had fieldgun(s).

HamsterIV:
There is no guarantee these tricks will work but you could:
1) Disable one galleon with tarbarrel/hwacha fire to keep it out of the fight long enough for you to kill the other one.
2) Use cover such that you can only shoot/ be shot at  by one galleon and not the other.
3) Use one galleon as cover from the other (place it directly between you and the other ship).
4) Hide underneath/above one galleon as to not take fire from it.
5) Out snipe them at long range with a ship that has a smaller profile (Lumberjack goldfish)
