March Madness!

Hey everyone, time for another update! We’ve got some big news, actually from within the past 24 hours really. Guess what? We finally have a Steam App ID! Wait, what does this even mean? This means we can now fully begin Steam integration of our closed beta testing. You heard us.  With all the proper information from Valve, we now go full steam ahead with getting things ready for our dedicated players (pun very much intended).

So finishing up that integration is one of our top priorities.  Along with that we’re getting in a lot of gameplay features tuned out and working well performance wise.  Some of this includes getting better UI feedback for receiving and giving damage, trail rendering on projectiles, and making broad game mechanic decisions to make the experience more streamlined than ever.  Things are coming along and we’re working harder than ever.

With that said, here is another bunch of screenshots from our latest build.  As you can see, lots of stuff is blowing up.  And while it doesn’t happen often (it’s very hard to do) we have two ships every close to each other.  Again, we won’t have boarding for the foreseeable future until we have ship-to-ship combat optimized and have that fun first.  However, it just looks terrifying having another ship slide right by while launching a few missiles at you along the way.

We're going down, but not without a fight!

And finally, we’re going to be at PAX East this year.  Yup.  Kickstarter has already helped us so much in regards to helping us get some buzz and funding for our previous game CreaVures (which finally has a release date on iOS) and for our closed-beta funding for Guns but they’ve extended their helpfulness by inviting us to be at their booth.  We have a table in their theater room.  So we’ll have a lot of space.  This will allow us to bring a playable demo of the game.  During our stay at PAX, we’ll also be doing live giveaways of closed beta access and in-game costumes.  So if you weren’t able to get closed beta, now is your chance by monitoring our Facebook page by liking it, and following us on Twitter.

TL;DR
– We have a Steam App ID so now we can steam (don’t kill me) ahead with closed-beta integration with the niceties of steam
– Working on a lot of visual and gameplay things like UI and damage effects
New screenshots
– We’re going to be at PAX East with a playable demo in Kickstarter’s theater room
– We’re giving away closed beta access and in-game costumes at PAX East, follow us on Twitter and like our Facebook page during PAX for more details
